NPC Farming
1. Building or “Spawning” an NPC
This is to build NPC’s around you so that you can farm them conviently, instead of traveling many miles just to farm one. First attack and take over a flat. Then build a city on that flat. As soon as the city is completed, build a rally point(speed it up) and send your workers home with the resources leftover in that city. Once you have done that, abandon the city, and Presto! A freshly made NPC city will be created for you to farm.
2. RESOURCES/TROOPS/DEFENSE
NPC city resources are replenish each 8 hrs, a barbarian city will take approx 1 hour to regenerate all to full (10% of the full amount per 6 minute tick). A barbarian city will also immediately regenerate approx 18% of all lost wall units each time some are destroyed. Example: if you destroyed 1000 towers and hit it again 1 second later 180 towers will be back. This here below is a chart of all troops, fortifications, and resources each NPC has.

3. ATTACKING
When attacking Level 5 NPCs(this is the highest level in which you will have 0 loses), you need to have no loses in order to make it worthwhile. Below is a chart of the approved Horseback Riding/Archery technology combos.
Archery 08 / HBR 03 (Massive losses due to being in tower range)
Archery 08 / HBR 04 (Smalls losses from units but safe from Archer Towers)
Archery 08 / HBR 05 (0 Losses )

4. NUMBER OF Ballistae To Attack
(Note: You still need one of the above zero loss Archery/HBR combination s)
10 Ballistae for level 1; 20 Transporters
40 Ballistae for level 2; 60 Transporters
90 Ballistae for level 3; 130 Transporters
275 Ballistae for level 4; 300 Transporters
400 Ballistae for level 5; 450 Transporters
Make sure you also have one of the above Horseback Riding/Archery combination s. You can also farm Level 6 and higher NPC’s.
Level 6- 3 waves of 1,000 Warriors then a fourth wave of 50k+ Archers with layering
Level 7- 4 waves of 1,250 Warriors then a fifth wave of 65k+ Archers with layering
Level 8- 7 waves of 2,000 Warriors then a eight wave of 90k+ Archers with layering
Level 9- 98k Archers with layering
Level 10- 97k Archers with layering(must have all level 10 techs and a very high hero attack)
For level 6-8 you may not use warriors, but it is suggested you do to keep archer loses down. If you have any battle reports to show, please post them, or send them to me in a PM. Thanks.
Give credit to Lynnore for most of this guide, although I changed a lot of things about it, I got the core info from her. Thanks :D
Complete reference to conquer a level 10 NPC
I. INTRODUCTION
A level 10 NPC is primarily taken for the level 10 buildings it has. Those 37 x level 10 farms (+ 3 x level 9) when coupled with 10 x level 10 lakes plus a decent Politics Hero like say 120 provide a food production of about 1.5m per hour. I have had experiences with several levels 10 NPCs. So, whatever is posted here will have those experiences, standing behind.
II. PREREQUISITES
1. Troops
This depends upon two factors -
1. Proximity of your target level 10 NPC from your attacking cities,
2. Method you are able to choose for this process.
Single City Method - 170,000 Archers & 150,000 Warriors [6-10 Heroes] Time taken: about 60 - 90 minutes (from Hit#1)
. Multiple City Method - 140,000 Archers & 320,000 Warriors [40 Heroes approx.] Time taken 1 - 2 minutes from Hit#1
First wave aka Spearhead wave should take down the fortifications and troops inside it. Some fortifications might still remain and regeneration will be higher initially. Second and third waves should be slightly bigger than the rest.
2. Extra Town Slot
This is quite obvious, however if you want to do this exercise while you are a Marquis or Duke and that you don’t have an extra town slot, you might depend on your attacks for the medal drops and thereby you await your next title during the course of action. This is absolutely fine as long as you need about 4 justice medals and 4 nation medals. If you need more, then you must be prepared with a few additional troops to prolong the attacking sequence.
3. Penicillin, Corselet & War Horn
For a first timer, these can be of great help, otherwise you must be prepared for the losses. Good Attack Hero can compensate for corselet and horn but penicillin has its impact in reducing losses.
4. Scouting Heroes inside the NPC
whenever you scout an NPC, the hero changes inside. So continue to scout the city until you get a low level hero inside.
5. Technology Levels
Archery, MT, Medicine & IW should be maxed out. Additionally. ALERT!!- Compass should be LEVEL 9 for less losses. While this doesn’t make a lot of sense, due to the battle mechanics, compass level 10 will increase losses.
6. Heroes to be sent
Get ready with the heroes to be sent. All should have ATT greater than 130 or so. Based on the no. of waves to be maintained in action, you will need about 5 to 10 heroes. If the hero for spearhead has an attack of ~175, it's fair enough to reduce losses. As per Method#1, 6-10 Heroes will be needed. As per Method#2, 40+ heroes will be needed.
7. Buildings
Rally point – This building should be of level 9 min. (level 10 serves the best). For those who aren’t aware of, a level of Rally Point adds up 10,000 troops to be sent in a single wave.
Feasting Hall – For a similar reason as above (in this case the no. of heroes engaged), this needs to be of level 9(min.) to make the best use of it.
Note: If you attack an NPC in next tile of distance 1 mile, you will probably end up in a round trip of about 7 minutes. Since 1 minute is a nice gap to be maintained, you will need 7 waves in action to keep it going. However, if the distance is 3 miles or more, the round trip will be mostly 16 minutes or more and hence you need to space out wider which means you take more losses.
8. War Ensign (Optional)
this is an item which can be applied by ticking the small checkbox located in the top left of Marching Window. This will include as much as 25% additional troops to be deployed out of a single wave, so this finds its use in the Spearhead wave to take minimal losses. From the next wave onwards, don’t forget to un-tick it; else you keep losing this item unnecessarily. If you have only level 9 Rally Point, then this will prove to be of great use for the spearhead wave.
III. Wave composition
a. Single City Method –
The NPC should be on next tile, ideally. If it's more than 3 miles away, then this method will have huge losses.
Spearhead- You want 86k Archers + layering, 96k Archers + layering or 123k Archers + layering. It all depends on what you did with your rally point, and if you applied your war ensign
Note: Before Spearhead, a few waves of warriors can be sent but that doesn’t give a big impact esp. due to the high initial regeneration
Wave 2 - 3 –
20,000 archers +
20,000 warriors +
Rainbow (optional)
After Wave 3, –
10,000 archers +
15,000 warriors +
Rainbow (optional)
Then you can just continually send waves of waves of this. You can also slowly add more Archers if you have the man power. Remember this is a ratio, and you can always increase the ratio if you want less loses.
b. Multiple City Method
Spearhead - 90,000~125,000 archers (approx.) (based on your Rally Point level and whether you have applied war ensign or not)+
Rainbow (one of each other troop for the layering) (optional)
Wave 2 - 3 –
20,000 archers +
20,000 warriors +
Rainbow(optional)
After Wave 3, –
7,000 warriors +
Rainbow(optional)
Detailed Explanation of method #2 can be found here, thanks to arislan1999
.
2. Medals drop / Wave timings balance
Medals drop only when a good no. of troops are killed. The spearhead wave usually gets a medal (where you slaughter 400,000 warriors). In the subsequent waves, only fortifications regenerate, so you may not get medals. Troops regenerate as 40,000 warriors once in about 6 minutes where you can expect a medal drop. If you look out for more medal drops, you would like to prolong the process, so you can maintain the wave gap as 2 minutes or so. Otherwise, it can be as less as that can be sustained. 4 Justice and 4 Nation medals are quite normal to be set as minimum expectations.
Note: Method#1 is apt for medal hunt. Method#2 is for advanced players and for long distance captures.
3. Loyalty reduction
The starting value is 91 at the level 10 NPC. It loses 3-4 per successful attack (depends on the wave composition) till the value goes down to ~60 and thereafter it loses 2-3 per attack, totaling to ~40 attacks.
Note: While I do know a LOT about Evony, one thing I don't know too well is how to takeover a level 10 NPC. I did it, but I didn't use the greatest method. So all thanks to Lord Prabhu for the guide. I did change some thing in it, but again the core info is from Lord Prabhu. If anyone has any battle reports to show, please PM them to me, or post them here.
Is conquering a must, when in search of medals in valleys or just winning?
ok im goin to try it out ^_^
i like your defence guide, very well thought up
Server 66, attacked about 40 LVL10 NPCs (6 conquer and 35ish farms), not a single medal drop. 1 speaker and 1 holy water. Same with your medal guide, low level valleys are not the way to go for 'newer' servers.
How to get Prestige
Prestige- This is something that almost all Evony players strive to get. Now you may ask; what are the advantages?
1. You complete certain quests for getting a milestone prestige (1,000, then doubled each time).
2. Most alliances will have a minimum prestige requirement. To get into that alliance, you must have a high amount of prestige
3. Overall, prestige basically measures how developed you are in Evony. While it isn’t the only thing, you can get a good estimate on how developed (this is underlined, because development and skill are 2 completely different things) a player is based on prestige.
How to get prestige- Since prestige is basically based on how active you are, a great way to get prestige is to be online more the 6 hours a day. Just doing that will keep you pretty high in the rankings, but if you want to be one of the elite prestige players in Evony, follow the next few steps of this guide
Prestige is gained in several ways: Researching, Building, Troop Building, Fortification Building, and attacking. I have a way for you to get the most out of each category
1- Researching-
A. Gold- Researching is almost all dependent on your gold level. So if you want a good amount of prestige this way, you need a lot of gold. Each level 5 NPC will give you 450,000 gold, so farming NPCs is a great way to get gold (see farming NPC for more info). You can also get a lot of gold before you farm NPCs by using the 100 or 50% tax trick (see tax tricks and tips for more info). Another great way to get gold is to use the market (this guide will be coming soon!). Once you are utilizing these methods, you will have all the gold you need for researching. But one thing will slow you down significantly- time.
B. Time- This gets ridiculous as you move on farther with research. To lower time, you need a good intelligence hero. You want a base stat of At least 65. Once you have gotten this, continually farm Level 4 valleys with 200 Archers, which will gain your hero a lot of intelligence. When it is time for research, switch to your Intel hero, and start it. As soon as you get 450 Ballistae, start hitting level 5 NPCs with your intelligence hero. This will greatly improve his experience, and should get his Intelligence to a good 90 before you get into high level technology. Make sure to always have something researching, as this will really help your prestige growth
2. Building
A. Resources- This will be the biggest restraint on building early. To overcome this you want to build all the building that are for quests first (when they give you equal or more resources when they cost. When you’re done with those types of quests, you need to start upgrading your resource fields. Continually upgrade your resource fields, while doing other major buildings, such as Academy, Barracks, or others. Once you have reached a good amount of resources, time will again become your biggest worry.
B. Time- When your resources seem endless for building; you will start to become restless with the amount of time it takes to build. So you must find ways to lower it. First, research a good amount of Construction (from the academy). You will see a significant drop in time. Also make sure your hero has good politics. 40 politics points is ~= to 1 construction level. Using the same method with your intelligence hero, you can successfully have a very good politics hero. Building time will be a lot faster, and you will gain prestige a lot faster.
3. Troop Building- This is one area that most people overlook. Many people are so focused on their building projects, they forget about how much prestige, and the importance of troop building. If you would like to know to know how to effectively troop build, then go to the Original post of this thread. Use the same method as above for lowering time except remember that attack of your mayor determines troop training speed, as well as Military Science.
4. Building Fortifications- Pretty much self explanatory. They follow the same rules as buildings. If you follow my Defense Guide, then train in bunches of 300 AT’s and 100 Abatis.
5. Attacking- Okay now here’s where prestige gets complicated. You can do a thing called Prestige farming. What this does is basically sacrifices power, for prestige. To do this you need a low level town hall(Prestige earned is base amount of prestige/Town hall level of all cities added together). Then you start pumping out warriors. When you’re out of BP, you smash them into NPC’s gaining a ton of prestige every time, since prestige won is based on your losses(you still have to win though :p)
Well I hope you rise through the ranks with the information I have given to you about prestige. Good Luck!
Note: If you have anything to add at all, please PM me, or reply to this post, thanks.
do you suggest attacking swamps with scouts? It is much faster but you do take losses. What are your thoughts?
for medals sorry
How to get prestige
keep your town hall low :)
no keep it high for extra food production spots and further upgrades & techs
Lower Town hall = Mores prestige growth. Ex. If you have 10 town with all level 10 Town Halls, you would receive 50 times less then if you have 1 city with a level 2 town hall. The key is to find a happy medium. I upgrade my Town Hall only when I need to.
Pascou I doubt very much that ARC/HBR combos for NPC farming have changed for later server. I think I would've read a topic or two about that if it was true.
And this is super-important information and certainly belongs in this guide. This is just the way it is, why would Satan come up with "original content"? People screw up their arc/hbr combo non-stop because they can't or will not properly read that table. This just can't be posted enough really lol
Say i reinforce a new city that has lvl 1 town hall with 40k warriors, will i be able to attack with this army and still gain the prestige, or must the warriors be built in the city to gain full prestige from the low level town hall... btw this guide is great. You could turn it into an ebook and make some serious bucks hahaQuote:

Green Sweet spot
Orange Small losses, but may be neccessary.
Red Dangerous combination, could result in defeat.
I think the main reason why this table confuses people is that it requires a couple of qualifiers.
Those are that this table relates to farming npc level 5 towns (and level 4 as well? Not sure but from memory there's a jump in requirements from 3 to 4.)
It would also pay to put a number of ballistas that is in the safe range (around 500 always works for me) and mention the other techs, such as military tradition and iron working, etc.
To a new player it looks confusing and is always presented without much explanation of what you are looking at.
I have put my own colour code on to try to show what I mean.
Almost all the combinations I have left black I would delete as they are pretty much made obsolete if players aim for the first sweet spot.
Satan, let a mod know if you want the posts in between the posts of the guide deleted.
Very good guide- clearly loads of time ended up in this.
Nice guide..hey Satan..i think i saw you b4...hmmm...haha...btw very nice guide...keep it on xD
I have a question regarding reinforcements sent to my city that are in the embassy. How do I get them to be with the rest of my troops so I can deploy and use them for defense? I apprecaite any guidance. Right now they ae just eating food and sitting there.
You can't use reinforcements for anything other than defending your city from attack.
They also eat 2x food while they are garrisoned, so perhaps it would be best to send them back.
Keep coming back to this one :P
get something new everytime
thank you, great work
Lol at this. At least it took a while for some 2 posts player to flame me. If you can PROVE that this doesn't work anymore, then please come forward. I am currently on server 90. I believe I am pretty updated.
I did put down how many ballistae you need. Personally, I'd start at 450, because anything more is a waste. Work your way down, until you get your first loses.
To the level 4 question, you can farm that as long as you have ballistae. Doesn't matter if you have level 6 archery or higher.
No thanks. This is a mere rough-draft. I will post a new edited version of this guide in a couple weeks. For now, anyone please continue to comment. Thanks for all the positive feedback.
I hear warrior spamming npc's does not work to build prestige anymore??? Can you clear that up, and as for my question b4, ill post it again since no one answered it... If i reinforce my level 1 town hall city with a butt load of warriors and attack npc from there will i gain the extra prestige for having the lvl 1 town hall or must the warriors be recruited from the city to gain the prestige?
There's a definite jump from level 3 npc's to level 4 npc's. I remember that quite clearly. then the gap between 4 and 5 isn't as big.
All you took from what i posted was the number of ballista?
could you add on how to take over a lvl 5 npc?
i just wanted to say that this is all very nicely done. To you and anyone else that had anything to do with it. looks like a lot of work and i hope this is helpful to me in my journey. thanks very much
Satan I barely read the guide but I'll read it some more. You know you're a really good writer, I hope that you find something else to post on to help us. Keep making guides and impressing us.
Honor and How to Get it
I. Intro.
This may be one of the most overrated statistics in all of Evony. First Honor actually hurts you, because the more honor you have, the worse your heal rate is going to be. But some people thinks it looks nice on their name, so they try to gain a lot of it. While I don’t recommend you spend time trying to get honor, and still will write a guide on it, because it is something that people will have demand for.
II. How Do I Get Honor
Well the most basic thing way to get honor is to send a lot of smart attacks. Honor is based on loses, so the goal is to lose (calculated from resources it takes to train the troops you killed) less troops then your opponent. For example, if you send 100,000 Cataphracts into a city with a huge amount of Pikemen, your honor will fall. But if you send them to a big city with Archers, then you will gain a lot of honor. It’s all about being smart. If this seems to hard for your lazy self, then you can cheat for It too!
III. Cheating for Honor
If you have been around the forums for a little bit, you will see the term “warrior fodder” a lot. What this means is to send waves of preceding warriors that takes out any traps/Defensive Trechbauchets/ Rolling Logs. Not only does this lower Archer loses, it also gets you a lot of honor. Since Warriors have a less cost then Traps, if you go 1 for 1(most time you go about 2 for 1) you will be able to increase your honor. So technically, you could just smash your warriors again many other player’s walls and get a lot of honor.
IV. Ending
There really is nothing too Honor, so this section end s here. Honor is something that you can’t really elaborate on. If you have any questions on the above methods, then just reply, or PM me. Thanks!
Wow...you seriously know how to write really good guides don't you? This should be likes Satan's ultimate book of guides. You're a good writer.
