You must realize that some, such as myself, have had an incredibly...stressful childhood, to say the least. Truly, I've often wondered whether I would be in an asylum right now had I not had video games to console myself. In virtual reality, one can escape from the troubles of every day life that haunt them everywhere else. I'm sure that there are children who have been beaten, abused, whatever by their relatives, and they only survive mentally because they can play Grand Theft Auto, they can avenge themselves on the pixelated civilians of a virtual world. And that's just one example. Never in all of humanity has a video game caused anyone unwanted stress, or driven someone to commit a crime, no matter what the stupid liberals that think the cause of Vietnam was Mario jumping one too many times on Donkey Kong say. You say that people 'waste' their lives playing games, and yet I can look back on a multitude of memories that are dear to me, and a majority of them are from playing those games with my friends, some of whom are dead now. Those video games provide social connections, they make people who would never have cared what the other was doing after school become best of friends. During my high school days, I made friends with the 'jocks' and the 'nerds' simultaneously simply by discussing a few plays in Madden '04. Without these sad and pathetic wastes of life called video games, I would be a completely different person, and I can safely say that it would not be a better one.Quote:
