*Jungle noises*
Welcome to the off topic, land of mystery and mayhem, heaven and the bad place, spam and eggs, eggs and spam, spam and cheese and spammity spam. Is it a bad place? Not usually. Is it a wonderful place? Not all the time. Friendly? Usually... is it a weird place?
Most definitely.
So what sort of creatures lurk in the off topic? It is probably important that you have a sort of survival guide/DnD manual/pokedex of all the goers and spammers of the Off topic. This is the place to come for info. Let me introduce myself. Pay attention, if you will, I am professor Arumen B. I am the current dictator and I like to think of my self as a low spammer. Also, I am on of the oldest posters on the forums, having been on longer than every mod and half the reps. I have a no ban record and have seen the forums through good and bad. This guide should help you all on the forums.
Firstly, let us define SPAM
a. Spam- the abuse of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately.
b. Spam- a post that fails to do one of three things:
1. Address the first post
2. Address or answer any question on the thread
3. Conform with rules on the first post
Taking this into account, certain things we call spam are not and certain things we don't call spam are. But for the most part, this fits what most of us believe. What is the spam scale then?
No spam: This is very hard to do. Some mods can do this.
Low spam: Me, King Alboin, Wildor all low spam posters. We try to conform to the guidelines set above.... but don't always succeed.
Med spam: People like Stormsurge and Zenrax. They tend to be funny and good posters, albeit rude at times.
High spam: People who spam at a rate of about 2 spam per 3 posts. Nothing wrong with it, unless it is rude.
Spam cannons: all spam, no real stuff. Obnoxious.
No OT posters are this.
So who are the people of OT?
Let us have OT decide. Fill out this form about someone other than you:
1. name (duh)
2. type (whatever you want)
3. description (make it good)
4. power (make it specific to personality)
RULES FOR THIS THREAD:
No rudeness. If you are not going to post something nice about someone, don't post. If you do, expect infractions, cuz it will be blatent.
if you have a particularly good description, I will rep you and put it on this post or the next one.
Have fun!
