Apparently, Stephen Colbert is going to be sponsoring the United States Speedskating team, because the orginal sponsor went bankrupt. I, for one, think this is epic; especially the way that he did it on national TV. Anyone else's opinions?

That gives me the lulz.
He does. He ran for president once; I have a feeling the next time he does it the race will be closer.

Colbert '12 Baby!!!

I will vote for Stephen Colbert. Twice.
That is pretty awesome!
Well only if he does not urge the head coach to move the nationl short track training centre from my area. I am supposed to be starting the off track conditioning for the team next year after I recover from my next surgery.
Stephen Colbert is one of the truly great people in history. He may act like an ass but he doesn't have a mean bone in his body and is one of the most politically fair pundits their are.

You could always do a favor for Bill Gates.
Upon cogitation and consultation, it appears the word ASS is tolarable as long as it is not directed at another person for insulting or degrading purposes.
So I am guilty of overmodding here.
But then I still think PODEX is elegant and charming.
Sorry Storm.
Well I'm just saying. That person from the 1,2,3,4 commercial got citizenship for doing that commercial.
I think I might vote if colbert runs for president in the next election.
I just love anything he does! He is sooo funny!
Mm, I adore Stephen. I'd vote for him. XD His sarcasm would be a wonderful counterbalance to modern politics. :P
XD i can see the politics now :3 funny
Netherlands-based DSB Bank
Ahhhh, yes.... I thought it would be that. When i read the speed-skating bit...
As some of you know I am Dutch and know DSB all too well, fortunately I have never had to deal with them.
Owned by a guy called Dirk Scheringa (hence the name D.S.B. where as B stands for Bank), yes he named the bank after himself.
Sponsor of a lot of things, one of them a Dutch professional football team (AZ from Alkmaar).
He has always been overcharging rent for mortgages. Not your average 2 or 3% per annum, but more like 20 or 30% per annum. Quite extra-ordinary. Up until June no-one really cared, but then some guy started questioning this. And in less then no time the bank went bust.
I'm very sorry for the American speed-skating team (and one of the Dutch ones as well), but good riddance.
Don't be sorry! Now we have the most Americanish American in all of America hosting the American team!
The only issue I can see with Colbert getting elected is that the electoral system of the US has the people elect people to elect the president, thereby rendering the votes of the citizens relatively worthless.
Train of thought fail...
Where was I going with this?
Oh yea!
Simply put: If Stephen Colbert is running as an independent, then the only electors the people are allowed to elect are the ones who hold seats in the US Congress, which means it'd be easy to keep him from the White House if he didn't have the support of any major party.
I hereby claim Stephen Colbert in the name of Canada. He's too good for you guys.
