I am all for diplomacy, am just amazed that someone would not want to be in an alliance, as an alliance can offer you so many benefits. I just wonder where a solo player expects to go after they have built up every city to its maximum and then can grow no further. Do they then quit the game and start again? More ideas on that side of things would be interesting .... what does the solo player plan to achieve from this game ?
Well said -- and I believe the entire point Jato was attempting to make.
I attacked an "inactive" player who came back.. the player send a polite email as to why he was being attacked, I apologized and stopped (as he was inactive). It was honorable -- and I was attacking him unprovoked (he was inactive originally), we were good neighbors.
THAT is a war game, folks. Declaring war and attacking 1 second later isn't necessarily kosher. It is part of the game currently, and perhaps a good suggestion that war declaration has same 'start' up time as Truce durations... just a thought. :)
Well so far im in 1st place on my server, the guy in 2nd place is also in my guild and we have quite a big productive mass of other team members in close proximity. Someday sure we will lose a war, its inevitable... but for the moment its not hard to whipe a entire medium sized guild solo or with some help for other guildies considering i have 700k men with very high upgrades and most people in the server still have armies with only 20-90k men each and inferior upgrades as well.
Plus no. I do not ever want to settle a matter and grovel to be spared. If they can whipe me out great, do it. If I cannot port away strategically then I will accept that base is lost and send remaining forces to a far off secondary base to regroup and rebuild.
I give no mercy i expect none.
well except for Lord Agnar, id not kill him just cause he seems like a cool cat and hes on my server somewhere :P
That's the way it should be, IMHO. On one of the servers I'm on, a neighbor conquered some of my valleys. After I took them back, I attacked his city once as a 'warning shot'. He did it again, I attacked two of them and sent him a letter saying he should leave what is mine alone, and he'll have no problem from me. He continues, and he'll have a big problem. The next move is his - maybe his alliance will declare war, maybe he'll let it go, maybe he and his friends will just try to smash me. Who knows? But I'm not bullying, diplomacy has been attempted, and if anyone has waves of armies headed their way they will know why and if they are smart will be ready.
And that, to me, is fun. Maybe it's fun for him too! Waking up to find my city in ruins because some random person couldn't wait for his lumber camps to produce, or felt I was a 'threat' without doing anything? Not fun.
