when your apartment gets shut down to be fumigated for pests...I'd imagine they give warning first so you can prepare, know what's going on...how would you feel if people with suits burst in your apartment and started blasting chemicals in your face and said,"Well, you had all these pests...what did YOU THINK we were gonna do? Isn't this what YOU WANT??"
gimmi a freakin break
vENDAWISH, A SUDDEN THOUGHT OCCURS AS i WAIT VAINLY FOR evony TO SPRING TO LIFE.

Perchance your'e not a member of EVONY coining it from us suckers are you?????????
No, the server I am on (16) is not "down for maintenance". The same problem was happening before maintenance. I was able to logon at 3:27 server time, only to be booted at 3:30 server time, which is when maintenance happened. A level 8 valley next to one of my cities became a level 9, so maintenance definitely happened at 3:30 server time for Server 16. I then got online at about 3:55 server time and did my morning farming runs. I signed off to refresh the browser, which everyone has to do from time to time due to the memory leaks in the application, and then I got the same super-slow downloading ("Loading...Please Wait...") screen. I guarantee people are still on that server and can play until they either log out or get booted out, then they'll be stuck waiting like many, many others...
Wow....system messages were sent out warning of the server maintenance. If you were online at the time, you got the warning on your screen. You all really need to calm down. The servers will come back up and you will be able to play again. If you still can't login after that, clear your cache, close and reopen your browser, and login.
this is rather strange...
so other players could stay logged in and shut the rest out..
if they were going to have what has now become a 5 hr maintenance on the servers, you would think that they would've sent a system email telling everyone since we all know how drastically something like this can affect the gameplay...they sure know how to spam us with ads for money that way...
but on top of it, it's not even a clean shutdown cuz some peopel are still able to get on or are still on from before the maintenance...
again as a former sysadmin for a software development defense contractor and a supervisor for HP Tech Support I'm gonna have to say this is just lame, what clown is running this show anyways, I hope he's not getting rich off this and all the money is just getting wasted on hiring teams of 3rd world country programmers to take 5 months to write a 'hello world' program
I'm a mature person taking a mature response to the fact an online game is being UPDATED so you can have an improved gaming experience. You guys complain about bad graphics, slow gameplay, innactive players, well as the MOD said above, how are they supposed to do that without bringing the servers down for maintanance.
You bring this upon yourselfs, so if you're going to keep whinging about it like the 300 other people making "SERVER DOWN OMGZ MY LIFE IS IN RUIN" in this forum, then I suggest you head on down to your corner store and stock up on some tissues and keep it to yourself my friend, because some of us don't want to hear it.
man, this guy makes my head hurt...
have you ever played an online game like this before???? how much money have you paid towards this game???
well I've played MMORPG's faaaaar more complex than this and of course servers are always being shutdown for maintenance and updating, but there's always messages prior and during!
if the maintenance runs overschedule, there'll be an updated system message explaining so...that way there isn't 5 million people spending all that downtime flooding their forums with garbage wondering what the heck is going on...
it's called professional business courtesy, these are paying customers
granted the last big game I played was run by Sony so they probably had their crap together better, but a simple system message prior and during this extensive outage would have saved a lot of people a lot of time and agony
Evony: Grow up and get with the program, and Vendawish - shut your ignorant pie hole, I can feel my IQ drop a point everytime you type a word
you might be mature, but that doesn't make up for supidity, I'd rather be immature and know my head from my ***
What good is a system notice to those that are not online. I think a 24 hour notice system email for server maintenance would be more appropriate. At least then players would know EXACTLY when the maintenance was going to take place and they would have adequate time to prepare for the downtime.
Side Note: Permanently freezing an account due to the fact a person made a charge-back is just wrong. I can understand penalizing a player but permanently freezing an account is a bit much. Basically that is like telling all the players --Okay you spend your money on us and in return we will give you crappy servers, customer support, and server maintenance. When you get tired of dealing with it you can get your money refunded ONLY by going through your credit card company b/c we sure aren't going to help you. Then once you do that we will make you start Completely over.--
