There's about 10 or so players who keep complaining about the game, and threaten to quit every week.
But, how about you?
Do you think you're gonna quit in the forseeable future?
I'm pretty sure this game is too addicting for me to save myself... :D

i voted maybe due to a forced quit for a few months for basic training for military
Lol i think its kinda funny when people threaten to quit... evony is prolly glad to be shot of those people who cause problems for them, raise a hubbub, and create much ado about nothing. To be honest, I don't care if they quit, unless they are my alliance host. I have no use for people who clog the forums and stuff with posts that detract from the game.
If I do, it'll be over the intolerable server lag. It's made the game unplayable.
Ask me again tomorrow.
This may be revealing too much about myself, but my money is on Evony experiencing a 90% drop in players over the Christmas holidays/college finals.
How will we feed out armies if we don't quit?
90% might be a bit too high..... but lots of people will quit.. everyone quits eventually ask yourself.. do you want to play evony your whole life?
The only reason right now I can forsee causing me to quit would be if the server I play on were to keep getting worse. I made a single post about it here in GD though, and it seems to, for now, be fixed. But, who knows what tomorrow will bring.
Ok, 90% probably is too high. I'll go with 50% then.
Alexa will show a 50% drop in activity on Evony.com, starting in 3-4 weeks, and it will not rebound by mid-Jan.
(Which server did you move to, dustino? 24 is soooo boring.)
I'm gonna quit once I complete the Big Breasted Woman Quest.
I had to change alliances to one that was at peace. I know it's a war game but after spending several weekend marathons and lately 12 hours on-line one day defending, coordinating and rebuilding I realized I couldn't keep this up. My family was peeved, my work was suffering and I was only getting 5 hours sleep at night.
If I end up in another large war I've already been told I have to go to one city and "turtle".
So yeah, the game has progressed to a point (for me at least) there isn't a "sweet spot". It's either farming or hours defending/attacking. Now I'm just chatting with alliance members, leveling heros, rebuilding and catching up on sleep.
I have to agree that this game requires you to be intensively involved if you want to be competitive in any fashion. The only difference between the "strong" players and average players is how much time they spend playing. This is the reason I voted maybe. If anyone can show me a game like this one, but has some sort of restrictions and/or changes that dont require so much time I would be out of here and over there in no time.
On a side note, I get a kick out of the people who quit and often times even make a good bye thead, only to come back a short while later...pathetic.
I quit in September.
I love this game, the forums and the alliance wars. They're coming out with an Age:II, give a game a chance.
I put maybe cuz the server I play in has been very laggy. But I'm still new so I'll keep playing in till the lag drives me to crazy to playing....
Didn't I see you on 59 too? KNOCKOUT or something...?
Uh...what? I'm here. On the forum. Talking about the game. How do you skew me predicting there will be a huge drop off over the next month into a hatred for the game?
I think this game has already grabbed as many dedicated players as it can. I do not think there will be no more coming in the fill the vacuum, everyone who wants to play has already seen the ads and given it a shot. There isn't another million new players out there to give this game a shot in the arm.
Evony.com has already seen a 9% drop in the past 30 days, and with the holidays and college finals approaching that number will only increase.
Voted for "kind of boring"..
No, not planning on quitting anytime soon..too many friends here... but it *is* getting kinda boring.
I mean... login, send out raids. train up archers... resend raids... resend raids.. cue up next construction (if applicable).. resend raids, resend raids, resend raids, resend raids.. maybe somewhere in the giant pile of "resend raids" is "throw a giant mass of troops at someone" or "reinforce an ally"...
So I've started doing some random experiments on various parts of the game, just to keep my frontal lobes from turning into mush from the boredom.. and it seems to work ok for now.. and I farm for medals now and then.. it'll be months before I get the ones I need for my next title upgrade.
Although admittedly, I'm better outfitted for the higher titles than I am for the middle ones I actually need...
Meh, it kills time, and it's cheaper than cooking, which is my other habit.. lol
yes - I'm quitting ... Trying to find out how to quit an alliance so I can delete my account.
I have a certain player that attacks me 18+ times / day so I can't train soldiers and keep them long enough to build an army. Nor can I save anything up to research any further can he's plundering me so often.
The game is just down right BORING as hell for me anymore.
What I find most interesting in the attacks on me is that when I attack, I have a 10,000 troop dispatch limit but when I get attacked He's attacking with well over 40,000 archers and 10,000 soldiers. In fact this morning I was attacked from this player with nearly 100,000 troops in a single attack.
There's clearly something amiss with this game and I don't like it anymore.
Yup. You have a Level 1 Rally Point and he as a Level 10 Rally Point (or, he has a Level 9 RP and used a war ensign, but I suspect not).
Nothing amiss, that's the way it works. It does suck though when a BIG player lays the smack down on you, there's basically no way to rebuild once you're destroyed, because you become an easy plunder target.
No insult intended, but it sounds to me from your posting that you really do not understand how this game works (opening & closing gates, alliances for reinforcements, etc.)
I put maybe only cuz the way the PvP is set up it makes it too easy for the big dogs to clean out the newbs
on my server, all the big alliances are teamed with each other and do nothing but rape the newbs...which is me...
there's no signs of any 'noble' big alliances standing up to the bullies...it's just tons and tons of elite bullies...who do nothing but cowardly attackes on really small people...
they should implement something where you can change your vulnerability status like keeping you in truce until you decide to attack someone, and then it stays 'vulnerable' for a certain timeframe or something...anything else besides the way it's run now...
If I wanted to fight an uphill battle in a game against a huge bunch of controlling elites that is a bunch of cowards, then I'd just go outside into 'society' hahaha
The real thing that's amiss is how hard it is for an inexperienced newbie to learn this game.
I know many people who're still confused after 4 months.
i love this game... its really good , just wish you could build a builing inside your town and outside your town at same time
No, I do not hate this game. It can be very frustrating at times, but I'm still a fan.
What did I complain about? Saying 24 was boring? Well, it is.
I know I'll quit, sooner than later most likely.
Once you have one or two fully developed cities it becomes tedious and redundant, as someone pointed out. To be completely honest, the only reason I still play is because of the friends I've made in my alliance. Otherwise the game has lost its luster for me.
---Nah, 90% will become inactive and 9% will do as they have been doing so far. The 1%ers will create more fictitious/bot/illegal accounts as they have been doing, scoffing at the rules and making it seem like evony is gaining players, when the reality will be that 30% have quit altogether, only 10% have become inactive and 50%+ are "bot" accounts created to give an unfair advantage to an alliance or "coalition" of alliances.
---If no one remembers Holiday Mode, there will be a 90% increase in NPCs... for sure.
to monte: I quit 59 the same day I left 24... probably late September early October?
I know about 10 people so far who have quit and aren't returning until Age II rolls out- i think that you will find a lot more people who are doing that. Also, Many many people aren't going to be buying coins in these servers, waiting for the change.
probably cos of the crap support we recieve.Lets face it cheaper to buy a ps3 lol
Well, I'll probably quit once I get a job...only been looking for over a year
at least Evony gives all us unemployed sob's something to do, and hopefully eventually level the playing field a little
but god help the newbs once the economy starts picking backup (if that ever happens)
