almost done with ranger apprentice series was very good. only thing i didn't like was the books where fast reads.Quote:

Also, most anything by Salvatore. Although Drizzt is getting a little old at this point. He's gone through like, 20+ books by now. Poor drow must be getting tired.
I actually like the heroes in Wheel of Time better than the ones in Sword of Truth, mainly because they are much more fleshed out and faulty than in SoT but the first book and 6th book in SoT pretty much to me make the series my favorite.Quote:

Idk. Anytime the heroes get too powerful, further character development (or plot development) is hard. Rand can take up an angreal, stretch out his hand, and obliterate most if not all of his enemies. It's why in Heroes (another of my favorites), they took away Peter's and Hiro's powers. It just got to the point where you're thinking, "Hey, why doesn't Peter just use xxx power or Hiro warp time and space in xxx way, and eliminate all opposition?".Quote:

If you ever decide to read the series again (and you should, since the 12th and final book is coming out soon, although it's not completely written by RJ since he decided to die, the ******* and I know I'm being insensitive but w/e), skip books 9 and 10 and just read a synopsis. I'm collecting the series more than reading it, the last couple of books didn't exactly keep me interested until the end. Extra problem is that I am collecting the books in Dutch (but live in England now), so when the book comes out here I have to wait another 6 to 12 months before it will be published in NL.Quote:
