Seems very much less than that to me.

You need to let us know what exactly you think makes the game non-functional. We won't be able to address it if you don't.
Please do not double post. I have merged your posts.
You have a right to complain, but please do so professionally.
Not with the way the medals are at the moment
Functional? No way. Beta. Maybe an EARLY Beta.
- We have most users who have been here for more than a week who are basically invincible due to changes introduced ON THE FLY. These same users have medals to last 6 months or maybe even several YEARS. New users will take months and maybe even years to move up a single level.
--- This just doesn't happen to games in production. Changes are tested and then put onto live servers.
- We have constantly changing and inconsistent "Speed up" times. "Speed up under 5 minutes" used to mean just that, but was about 4:30 when I started a week ago. Now it means "Speed up under 3 minutes", except in the few cases it still does go to 5 minutes. But of course it still says "Speed up under 5 minutes".
--- No, none of us has a clue why it changes daily. Can you imagine any game not in beta with this sort of bug???
- Attack and return times are an abomination. Who knows, sometimes it takes 3x as long as predicted for your guys to go out. If you are lucky, it's just double. And it seems to change every day.
--- Have you ever played a game that was in production, where you had to do a sample scout and a sample attack each day, to see what kind of ****e the server was doing that day? Hell no.
- Server Performance.
--- I won't say more, but I suspect that a 200 processor mainboard loaded with new processors and GOBS of ram couldn't overcome the programming that is killing it. Awful. Acceptable in beta but a production game... no bloody way.
Free Speed up time is 'Base Building Time = 5'. If you have a high politics mayor/high Construction tech, something might take "3mins40sec" to produce, but it's original BASE build (before applying Mayor/Tech boost) was above 5mins so you can't speed it up for free.
You will see this a lot if your various cities have mayors with wildly different stats.
Ok, well that does make sense.
And on a related note, games that are NOT IN BETA explain stuff like this clearly. Seriously, this game is "In Production", and the only user manuals available are FORUMS.
We are, at this very moment, writing the Evony manual. LOL.
Thanks for the tip though.. I do have a high (76) politics mayor in one city, so what you are saying makes sense.
A lot of things may be true, but it is still a pretty good free game.
A post on the forum specifies that the medal drop rate is going to change, so while it is a bad problem that should not have lasted this long, its not a matter of years :)
You've already heard about the speed ups i see
I have never had the problem you speak of in attack times. It could be a result of research in one city, and an academy that does not allow that research level in another.
I get the feeling you have not seen server performance a week ago :) But seriously, i don't find it too bad now
You also have to remember that the medals are the way they are right now because PLAYERS began posting "how to scout spam for medals" guides which let players collect 100's of medals a day. The developers did not mean for it to be that easy to get them. Yes, they went a bit overboard in trying to fix it, but it's all about finding balance between what the players want, and what the devs are willing to give for free. The next update looks like a fair balance to me. Thus, that problem has been fixed.
the beta issue is fine if;
1) you respond to emails or make it clear that emails are not the place to get response from.like a pop up box that says "please check support forum before sending emails."
2)sorry for the inconvenience statement not followed up by "you will be compensated from you loses.if you expect to keep paying costumers.
3)the dollar to cent coast is bad.I have only payed in because if you follow through with support and fixes you will have a game worthy of paying for.
In every business how you treat you costumers is EVER THING.how you going to act ?
It said it (the medal drop rate) would go up, but still be nowhere near where it was before. Very clearly. Of course this was a bug, which gave many many players an insurmountable advantage. Did they have a plan to fix (or roll back) this problem : NO! THAT'S WHY IT'S BETA
I don't care how ****tily it ran two weeks ago - the OP asked if this was a functional game. The game runs like crap (on S3) about 1/2 of the time. THAT'S WHY IT'S BETA.
As for whether it's good or not... There are many games out there that are FREER than this game - where players who use skimmed cards do not get in-game advantages. For me, being able to BUY your kingdom is not a deal-breaker, but a game has to be pretty darned good to overcome it.
This game is not there by a longshot. I would be more forgiving of the game were it honest, and label itself as still beta. But we both know they can't do that, because in most parts of the world, selling access to a beta is not legal.
My personal opinion is that this game came out of beta, not because it was ready, but because of the legal ramifications of charging for a beta game..... You have to admit that this does explain a lot of things...
