some of us don't like starting all over again you know. maybe you can just merge some old servers. look it's starting to look like ghost towns here,

We create new servers based on demand.
More demand = more $$ mate, it's all bout the $$$
Ive noticed the stats tab go to 20k plus pages during the 1st few day of a new server. With 10 players per page that would indicate over 200k registered players on the server. After the server is up about a week or more though it drops significantly. Server 69 is down to less than 1300 pages for example. EvonyAlerts.com tracks the starting times of the new servers, usually a few per week.
It's getting pretty ridiculous.
Should be a tournament structure with requirements to get into specific servers. Servers last for a few months to a year and when new servers are created they are segmented to tiered types, beginner through expert levels and restrictions on which players are allowed to enter into them are applied. There should never ever be 100+ servers to choose from, that is just crazy talk, my server is insignificant and 99% of the players who are on these forums would have no clue who I am nor any other prominent figure around many alliances in my server or any other server for that matter, do you think I know what is happening on server 30? I have no clue and that was made only a week after my server was.... There is a total disconnect between each server's players which creates a disconnect on these forums.
Example :
Beginner Server - Any player who does not qualify for the next two tiers or any new account
Average Server - Any player who finishes above the top whatever half way point is for number of players, so if there's 10,000 players then anyone who finishes at 5000 ranked or higher
Expert Server - Any player who finishes in the top 10% of players from any server may enter into these servers
Then of course you would have to allow for modifications of certain things for each type of server, costs of units and the power of research would be increased in beginner servers where as later servers would be more difficult to manage but would provide some sort of bonus to reach playing in these servers like removing resources from the spin wheel entirely in these servers or testing new items or unit changes or even to expanding the size of the map to allow much larger amounts of players in them and giving a larger alliance size limit (which sounds most like an expert server to me).
This would even encourage players to maintain single accounts over long periods of time and allow statistic tracking over multiple server games, having a profile that can track how well you place over a years time in 2 or 3 server games alone would attract alot of number freaks who thrive on having things ranked like myself.
In any event i have no clue what I'm talking about so have fun with that
vary nice ideas actually.
And he's not lying, actually.......they DO create new servers based upon demand......the demand by this game's owners to make more money....
Players of new accounts on new servers will spend more money to get their cities built up quickly to the point where they can defend themselves, and where they can dominate others who have not built up their cities as fast. The developers are massaging and shifting the nature of this game so that to advance in title, add more cities, and build up cities is harder and harder to do. So players will spend money for medal boxes, speed-ups, mechanic battalions, etc. to keep from being overtaken by others who have already done this.
They've figured out that opening new servers lures players from earlier servers with the incentive that if they start fresh, with their experience and with REAL MONEY, they can grow quickly in a land full of BPs and noobs and be the King of the Evony Hill they weren't able to be on the older servers. Once players reach a certain point on older servers they've got nothing left to build, they farm all day long to feed their massive armies, and about all they ever spend on is for advanced teleports. The game gets boring and they quit. Not on the newer servers...
So they start new servers. And when those servers don't reap the revenue the developers want, they turn around and squeeze 3-5 servers worth of player accounts onto single servers, at a HUGE inconvenience to the cash-paying players. But they don't care, because now they have clean, emptied servers to use for MORE servers, and more cash paying players.
It's just a meat grinder system for them to squeeze the blood out of the turnips, so to speak, and generate MORE real cash flow for themselves.....
true..... damn I hate corporate people!
the problem isnt new servers being made, the problem is they arnt doing anything with old servers. i mean they merged all the worlds together and they are pretty cool, whats the point of have 100+ differant servers you arnt going to do anything with... like i said the problem is not new servers, its the old ones are getting forgotten.. why not merge server 1-5 see how people react then go from there, a server merge does put alot of exciment back in evony... please atleast look into this Evony haha
