With the bot warning message removed from the home page, does this mean Evony has reversed its stance on bot usage?
No. We still do consider those using bots to be cheaters and we do still actively track down and take disciplinary action against those players who choose to cheat, up to and including permanently banning their accounts.
I think Evony found that it did not get many views and player's didn't really look at it. That's why they may have taken the announcement down.
It brought the idea of botting to players who would not have pursued it on their own by putting a big message in their face "hey, you don't really have to spend 4 hours a day farming"
In actuality it was removed because it shows that Evony doesn't have any preventitives in place.
I'm sure when people saw that message they had to find out what botting meant, and viewed as beneficial when they learned of it's function. Making the problem worse.
