and now a word from our sponsor?
so we've heard for a while now, many a diatribe from the disgruntled masses that play this game about the multitude of greivances they'd wish to lodge with the developers.
when do we get a rebuttal? the mods and the go betweens like gazza, while very gracious doing for the most part, a thankless job, are doing the best they can with probably a very limited amount of info given to them...it's not cutting the mustard.
and a proper response not some evasive, duck and cover schpeel that sounds like it was written by a political advisor.
the price of game coins is and should be criminal and i should have my head examined for spending money on them in spite of it but that says to me that it's a good game...
the gift package, must be a joke. the developers are surely laughing their bums off and slapping one another on the back telling them selves how clever they are.
what do you suppose would happen if each one of their unhappy players went to their little corner of their social online network and spewed all their game angst?
now reverse that and imagine if we were all (for the most part), happy shiny people spreading their undying love and addiction to this game all across the internet and shouting from the rooftops?
which p.r. version would you like going for you?
I posted this in another thread,
but I think it is appropriate here, should give some insight to those who think we have no right to be upset.
O.k. first of all I registered just to post about this "free package" b.s. Those of us who say people shouldn't complain obviously don't get why people are complaining.
I want to preface this by saying that I did pay $30 for the bonus package, didn't get it, sent emails(12), and got ZERO response....NONE! I overlooked this because I liked the game and they did give me a big package to begin with. Granted, now that I am into the game, I wouldn't pay $30 for both packages they gave us to start the game.(It's just not worth that much money, sorry) If you haven't been playing this game for at least a month, you don't have the whole picture. So I am going to describe SOME of the legitimate reasons that people have to be unhappy, just the ones that I dealt with personally.
When I first started the game, the 'wheel of fortune" was exactly that. Every spin had good prizes all around and a few crummy ones, but overall they were good prizes....Medal boxes, battalions, 300 game coins, MA Scripts, speech texts, guidelines, and you would often get more than one of the item. Now, I realize that all of these things are still on the wheel, however the frequency has changed quite dramatically. The "wheel of fortune" has turned into the "wheel of food". I know the daily amulet is a gift for playing each day, and we appreciate that, but it is far less of a gift than it used to be.
I am just going to list the rest, because I didn't intend to write a book, but I can feel this getting long. So here goes.
- The lag, omfg the lag.
- I was unable to sign into server two for 7 days causing me to be plundered and I lost 7 days of advancement while all of my neighbors gained 20-40K during that time.
- Had 6k archers and 20k warriors disappear while on march. No attack report nothing...they just vanished. 4 emails ZERO response.
- Had my barracks fully cued with soldiers to be trained, server froze....lost all troops and all resources committed to train those troops. 3 emails...Zero response....see a trend here?
- Saying the game was out of beta, and charging money to play when really the game was still in beta. Just plain wrong.
- The Medals.
Now today, with the "free gifts" for all of our troubles. I understand that they didn't have to give us anything. Personally, I think a junior medal box is a crummy "free gift" based on what I have dealt with. Then any goodwill or positive done with the medal box is completely negated by making us pay for the other two "free gifts". I think it should have been based on how long you have been playing. While I understand the need to create revenue, the developers have made it abundantly clear that this is their only goal. Which is unfortunate because they have a nice game here, and people would spend money if they would show that they give a damn about their players.
I think the folks who haven't paid anything have every right to complain because they are the reason all of the bugs got worked out. The developers should have done most of what we did for them before they even launched the game. Not to mention, the fact that some of the cool features that are now part of the game were ideas from us, the players. People have time and effort put into this game and frankly the developers need the free players just as much as they need the paying players. If they don't change how they do business. I could see this game failing completely.
The apathy from the developers is sickening.
Just my opinion, and I still would like my $30 back or the package I paid for....scratch that, I just want my $ back.
