What's Great about your Country/ Town

Just what the title states:)

I'll Start with my Country!! and our biggest city!!

Imagine an urban environment where everyone lives within half an hour of beautiful beaches, hiking trails and a dozen enchanted holiday islands including Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands. Add a sunny climate, a background rhythm of Polynesian culture and a passion for outstanding food, wine and shopping - you're beginning to get the picture of Auckland.

I could make it sound even more spectacular, but I want to hear what makes your country so good!! So whats great about your country??

America:

---Pros: Democracy (apparently), Capitalism (questionably), lots of corn, Oprah

---Cons: Terrible bands (we suck at musicz), too many annoying high schoolers (I'm one of 'em), limited support for marijuana laws, failing school systems, credit/identity theft, paranoia.

Hm. It's not so great after all. Though I do think Oprah almost balances it out.

Canada has 4 distinct seasons. By which I mean that winter is really witer here. And so is summer. And so is spring and fall. We do not really need to travel. The country changes all the time. :)

We aren't the most hated. Ever heard of Israel?

A country full of Jews, possessing holy ground of other religions, on land that was taken from other countries by the U.N.

The U.S. and Europe are pretty much the only ones who like them.

My home town is/has:

History of Police Brutality (Google Little Steel strike)
Police chiefs who player edit other officers while transporting prisoners
20th most polluted area in the US.
Oldest football teams.
Next to the city that got the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Lol Anyone can make there country sound like the most appealing place in the world. I mean theres a few cons for my country, but this thread is asking why your countries Great!!

My hometown/Current residence= One big Ghetto.
