Well guys im just kinda wondering how many of you guys have taken the h1n1 shot??
It's a government conspiracy mannnnnn...
They use the shot to implant a tracking chip into your body.
I read up on it... have few concerns over its safety, and am comfortable that the potential benefits outweigh the scarce risks... so I will be getting the shot along with the rest of my office on January 18th, 2010.
Yeah... lots of people are saying the shot is a safety risk.
Besides, it's been proven at this point, the regular flu is more deadly than Swine Flu (h1n1)
When h1n1 hit Mexico, it hit hard. But right now, it focuses on people with health issues... they are the only high risk people. The normal flu has and is killing many more...
For example, i saw a headline in the paper that said
"Swine Flu Strikes Again"
It was talking all about how this guy had nothing wrong with him, he was perfectly healthy, and h1n1 had struck and almost killed him. Then on the next page they show a picture, and he's a dwarf that in the past years has had tons of sicknesses...
It goes to show, the worst is over... and i don't see a need for the shot.
Several guys at my school had swine flu. They were out for, what, a week or so? Came back perfectly fine.
I was sick the other day, my parents were worried it was swine flu. They took me to the doctor (and yes, he is a good doctor) and ask if it could be swine flu and if they should be worried. He shrugged his shoulders and said "It doesn't really make a difference. I would say that's a good thing, if it's swine flu you don't need a vaccination... i would be more concerned if it was the normal flu."
I really don't get why people are so worked up about this. The CDC says that about 10,000 people, worldwide, have died of H1N1 since April. If the rate stays the same, we can expect a little over 13,000 deaths in one year.
Now, compare that to the 500,000 deaths from the seasonal flu, or H5N1, that happen EVERY SINGLE YEAR.
It's like worrying about a dripping faucet when the pipes in your basement keep freezing and exploding. I realize that thousands of people dying is a very bad thing, but compared to the number who already die and who nobody is really trying to help, this whole panic seems incredibly silly.
Didnt take it. Hate needles, and as Pieman and Axer said, its just like the normal flu
When a conspiracy, like the tracking chip, actually happens, then no one or very few people will know. I am not getting a shot fro a made up disease.
Swine flu doenst bother our country much, so i dont think ill go take it...
Too scared for needles EEK!
My school gave 'em out. I decided not to get it. Still alive.
I took a shot of whiskey, does that count?
Fear of needles > Fear of Hyped diseases
lol i already took the shot, just wondering if you guys took it

I took a shot of whiskey, does that count?
if you give me some then it counts : )
well i fail on quote messaging : (
I considered it, but I'm healthy and I usually get ill less often and less severely than most anyone I know, plus I usually recover faster. Since supplies of the vaccine are still limited, I'll decline to take it and leave the doses they have for those who truly are in need.
They've offered vaccines at the school my children attend if/when they come available for them, and I did sign up my kids.
Forgot to add: Didn't encourage Abracax to get the shot. I just upped his life insurance a bit. ;)
Never taken the shot, and still living.
(i think)
Wanted to get the shot but never did. Praying I don't get it and grow a curly tail.
Most of the pigs that I have any physical contact with are pretty healthy, so I never saw the need to get a shot really.
no, and i'm so sick of people *****ing at me to get it
i'm considered "high risk" because i'm pregnant
but i'd rather take my chances of maybe getting this flu which is basically just like the regular flu than have myself injected with some random crap that i wont understand because i'm neither a biologist nor a chemist and possibly myself and my future child get sick in the future
and if you don't feel the same, FINE, i don't preach about why i don't think people should get it, don't preach to me about why you think i should!
I got the shot waaaaaaaaayyyy before it ran out. The SwineFlu is dangerous, no matter if you say it isn't. I recommend the shot but I can't force you so it's your choice.
i got the shot and im living fine, well in canada shots arnt limited so everyone can get it
It is all part of the government conspiracy... or so she says :D
nope...
dont intend to either
My 16 mo. old son contracted H1N1 back in November. It took him almost a month to fully recover. However, on his last follow-up visit his doctor suggested he be innoculated for H1N1 next time the shots are available. I won't be taking him in for the shot, but I was surprised that the doctor would suggest it. Since he has already contracted and fought off the virus, isn't that the same as getting the vaccine?
Indeed it is, of course it is possible that you misstook the disease your son had as H1N1. The CDC recommends that you take the vaccine even if you think you had H1N1 as it is possible you only had a normal flue. Of course, if it was diagnosed by an expert, then you don't need the vaccine.
To be honest, I have not been vaccinated, and the threat has passed for me I think. Though every single one of my friends contracted the disease, I did not. And I do not think anyone in my high school has contracted it for quite some time.
Besides, I honestly have a distrust for vaccinations, especially after the whole Hepatitis B vaccine (I think that was the one) causing paralysis ordeal.
I didn't get the shot, but I got the nasal thing.
I don't do needles very well...lol.
I'm not anti-vaccines per se but things like flu vaccine should be for those most at risk, namely the very young, the very old and the very sick. I don't really fit any of those categories and I believe my body would be able to cope.
I'm the same way. I mean, people have survived for many a year without vaccines and more than anything they have saved people within those three categories. I'm not against them, and my daughter has been vaccinated, but she's a baby, and my immune system is much greater than hers.
I feel that the vaccine is just a conspiracy to turn us into mindless zombies... So I shredded the papers to sign for it once I got home :P
My school offered the flu shot, But I was home sick the week they were giving them.......Go figure...
I get my shot of swine once a week for breakfast.. its called bacon..
srsly though i probly wont be getting the shot unless i absolutely have to
I'd rather deal with the discomfort for a few seconds of a needle then possibly dying from the flu.
