I agree but disagree at the same time.

If you don't venture just a bit away from the main purpose of the topic or branch out, it gets old. After a while of this people get bored. Everything becomes predictable. People leave from the lack of comedic/unexpected material.

On the other end of the spectrum. If you completely ignore the topic and basically post nothing more than spam. It gets annoying, posting becomes worthless. People once again leave for obvious reasons.

All I'm saying, a little off-topic is acceptable. As long as it doesn't go to far into the spam zone.
