The doomsday clock is like Nostradamus. It's been predicting the end of the world is coming just around the corner for several years now. I guess if you keep saying "the end of the world is tomorrow" enough times, eventually it'll be true.
Sorry but that is wrong. The clock is not a predictor of nuclear catastrophe but is instead an indicator of the current situation only. There are many different factors that are considered by a panel of scientists and sociologists (etc.) before any adjustments are made to the clock and the ultimate goal is not to predict when a global nuclear holocaust will occur but rather to indicate the current global political and social situation with the aim of helping to prevent the holocaust from occuring.Quote:
