Benjamin Franklin. A man I can admire.

His achievements were far too numerous to list here, but perhaps the most outstanding was that he lived to the age of 84. He was overweight and prone to gout and although he extolled the virtues of hard work and chastity, he obviously did most of his work with his mind and fathered an illegitimate son by a lady unknown and had a common-law marriage with Deborah Read who had been abandoned by her husband.
I would imagine Ben enjoyed a good life of rich food, fine wine and a pipe or two of tobacco while contemplating matters of importance. In other words, he lived a life that by modern standards would be unhealthy and somewhat scandalous, but he lived his full measure and left his mark on the world.
Happy Birthday Benjamin Franklin.
