The Unspoken Rules Of OTD

Recently, mucho flames have been flying around because 'new' people are simply not aware of The Unspoken Rules Of OTD. I just don't want to lose another epic poster to an easily preventable ban (not to say unjust) I therefor believe it is necessary to record these rules to prevent the loss of more OTers

Zenrax, Abakker and Milo to name a few(I know, not for n00b flaming but it makes you think...) have all been lost forever.

So I created this thread with the intention of Protection of those new to OTD, and those who have been here since time began.

For people who have not ventured here before


Rule 1

Be Humble
Do not say you are 'awesomer' or use these: :cool: It will give you a bad image.

Rule 2

No Spam!

I know this is stressed an awful lot, but members of this forum are quick to criticize on account of it.
Do not insert random comments into games or discussion thread. It breaks up the flow and will not be well recieved.

Rule 3

Act your age

If you believe you are younger than most members (Many do) of the forum, do not make a big deal out of it.

Rule 4

Don't be a tryhard!

If you see a spam or troll thread, don't just flame it. Report it so it can be locked.

Don't necro and don't dicuss about religion or politics(although I wish I could) and don't make threads that are useless or completely boring.

also, for people who don't know.

Necro: A person who posts or "zombifies" a dead thread, usually a week or two old. By posting on a dead thread, you will be putting it to the top of the forum, or "bringing it back to da life", putting the other "living" ones behind it, automatically making you a necro. If you want to revive a dead thread, ask somebody. Preferablly a friendly Mod or a popular poster.

Tryhard:

A person who puts a large amount of effort into achieving a certain image, or counter-image, to the point where it is obviously contrived. Rather than achieving an image through genuine personality, the try-hard consciously attempts to fit a certain style through deliberate imitation, forced style, or scripted behavior. That is to say, he/she is trying hard to create an image.

Which pretty much defines me :p

Mm-hmm. That is a totally true statement. Nothing in it that could possibly be construed as a falsehood or misinformation. Yes-sir-ee, sentences don't get much more true than that.
