Emi,
My recommendation is not to spend your money. I did and I regret it.

Krandor, Please do not recommend people to spend or not spend money on Evony. This post is in no way trying to sway people about the rights or wrong / should I spend or should I not spend of purchasing coins from Evony.
People should all make up their own minds about their transactions.
In fact this thread is all about the customer service relations with we the customers / users. About voicing our opinions in a sounds logical way in order to enhance Evony, not to bring it down.
I started this thread to show my dissatisfaction with customer support, and I feel we were given a great response by dawnseeker. However, this is just the beginning. Now that we have a starting point in the customer service relations we can use this thread to give realistic and practical suggestions, both for Evony staff/customer support and Evony game design.
The overall purpose of this thread is to show that we "do" like this game, we "do" want to continue playing this game, and that we "do" want to take initiative to "enhance" Evony as to achieve something better and something greater. We the customers and users of Evony are Evony. Without us there is no such thing as Evony. If you like Evony, then you should stand by Evony and help them out in realistic and practical ways. Provide positive criticism as the goal is not to defame or berate Evony, but enhance Evony in order to benefit us all and give everyone a more enjoyable game.
Wow... What a load of gibberish...
The game may be "wildly popular" but I don't think its particularly well liked. Most people I see talking about Evony, don't really have much good to say about it, and that's the people that haven't quit yet. Being a startup company doesn't excuse you for bad customer service.
Uhhhm... I'm pretty sure most people have a problem because they feel you AREN'T customer oriented.
Well your goals comes across as "Milk money from customers before they realise it's not worth it". Highlighting this has been the recent Christmas and new years schemes, which user overly complex and under explained packages, resulting in people either having to ignore their "gifts" or pay to open them. By the time people realised that opening the package had to be paid for, it was way too late, and they'd already given you the cash. Congratulations it worked.
Strange... I swear you said that you aren't a fly by night games company that accepts bugs and poor service then moves on.
Unfortunately, the things you see as "Small things" are generally the huge things to the players. You may look at the game on a grander scale, looking towards progressing to generate further income, but players see the game as it currently is, and the flaws that it has are the most important.
We don't expect compensation for everything that happens, I think the point here was that since it costs you guys nothing, you could be a little bit more generous when individual players are put through a bad time. I personally have no grips with the compensation as I don't feel I've required any, but seeing the Christmas "gifts" I can understand why people feel you guys have a lack of generosity.
I've not encountered anything that requires this, but the above all sounds fine.
But what if the honest criticism is that the service delivered really is bad? You can't say you invite honest criticism if you also say that if we criticise your product, its bad for business and thus not allowed.
But judging by the negative reaction to many server merges, you clearly aren't listening enough. I would think that regardless of if you are "a serious, customer-oriented operation" or a company milking its players for every penny, the last thing you would want is to lose players on that kind of scale. Perhaps server merging should the option to move on to either the new servers, or a selection of other server with free space. I've heard rumours that my server will be merging soon, and if its even one tenth as bad as some of the experiences with merges I've read on here, then you'll be losing another paying player too. And I doubt I'll be alone.
Kell and Meecro, those are the kind of posts that get this thread overlooked. It is apparent evony mods and reps are not going to respond to your harsh tone. I guess you haven't picked up on that from the hundreds of other threads getting removed and ignored.
You want to rant like children, make your own thread and quote them over there. I'm sure the original poster here does not appreciate you guys turning his thread into another overlooked thread.
I was simply responding to each point in turn. I don't feel I agreed with almsot anything that Dawnseeker said, and so was giving my side. I in no way used a harsh tone and in no way was it ranting like a child.
I believe the act of accusing me of ranting like a child is more likely to get this thread overlooked.
If you don't agree with my post, that's really not my problem, but if you don't respond in a constructive manner then we really won't get anywhere will we?
Thank you Dawnseeker for your response. I for one am glad to see a well thought out, multi paragraphed explanation from the Evony side of things. For those of us who have been playing for a long time; when it was civony and just starting out- I think few would have thought the game would have exploded this much.
Did Evony make mistakes and where they late to helping when many issues broke out? Yes they were and I think Dawnseeker admitted it. To have so many servers added helped to create ghost towns that in turn led to more people leaving the game out of boredom.
Now, from a paying player perspective, we do not feel like we should be pampered and have a direct line to the Developers and be able to decide the game. But I think Icer's crux of the argument is this.
We who pay for the game love the game enough to pay to play. We are willing and wanting Evony to succeed, and we are willing to spend money on it in order for it to continue. We would like to be met at least part way in regards to feedback from the powers that be.
Thanks for the great post Icer, and thank you Dawnseeker for the response.
"Paying customers views" I'd be lying if i stated that I am a paying customer.I would like to find a game I enjoy playing enought to be willing to pay for.For me to do this the game would have to have the bugs worked out prior to cash transactions.Compensation for unforseen acts of any nature would have to be acceppted.Hopefully sometimes offered.
I have played this game after being invited to a trial beta testing.I did not solicit this in any way other than doing a search for a game I once played.I accepted and due to my history of highly addictive game play, prefering this type over most, spent 120 days tommorrow. All of these days over 14 hours logged.I missed a few days with negative results.
I chose to kamikaze a few days ago on server of choice. The farming became unhealthy and less rewarding.Knowing that a lot of this time invested could be wasted by malfunction on either end, inactivity on either end and any of the multitude of things I've
read, heard and witnessed. Not to mention cheating by Evonies terms that as a player I had no problem detecting. No confirmation needed, that obvious.
I did not report.
1) don't like screenshots(clutter bugs)
2)I'm a noob(reliving my past)
3)why's it matter,I'll move on(soon enough,still poor weather days)
I have worked for a major game producer(starts w/an N)
I have worked, managed a top provider of Excellent customer sevice
(also starts with an N )
I'll save my suggestions for the game suggestion area.(lucky you)
A lot of times I witness what I'll call Flame under pressure.Patience by players not allowing time for dev's,mod's to communicate the incident.Sure can tell if anything anywhere is happening by watching forum traffic though.Pretty slow for 15 mil active players.
Well I'll have faith in brighter days. EAII
