Default Players informed of merges 1-2 weeks ahead of time???????????????

Unless this is a new change in policy, the last several have only been given LESS THAN TWO DAYS notice (around 43 hours).

System mails do go to everyone on the server, but the warning period is far less than what is claimed, "typically". Maybe someone got more than 2 days notice, I don't know. What I do know is N2, N3, N4, and SS1 all only got 2ish days notice.

Maybe the reason for such a LARGE disconnect between employees and customers is because we are observing two different things? If you were told people get 1-2 weeks notice, then we're telling you that is not how it works out. If we had been given 1-2 weeks of notice on N4, things would've gone VERY differently, as people would've been informed when the promotion started on December 16th rather than not until December 22nd when we were told of the merge, and would've also known to consider purchasing holiday time to cover the time that they were going to be gone and not have the protection of an alliance.

Yep, I can confirm SS1 got about 2ish days notice also or at least I did, the mail came so late in fact that the deadline for registering accounts from other servers and choosing the one to keep had expired before the mail arrived (luckly I only had 1 account).

Well, the issue still remains that apparently employees think that players are given 1-2 weeks notice, when in reality it is 1-2 days notice.

All the servers that merged had a very short notice... it is what it is. And future mergers will likely have little notice either. We are not employees of Evony, they did not hire us, they do not pay us. They are there for not obligated to give us a 1-2 week notice, same as we are do not have to give them any notice at all that we are quitting.

You misunderstand. Look at the stickied (and immediately locked) post:

"When Will Your Server Be Merged?"

My thread here that I started is not a request by me for people to be informed 1-2 weeks ahead. It is a reply to the locked thread in which there is a statement made by an employee that claims "typically" customers receive 1-2 weeks notice of the merges, but that assertion does not seem to correspond with what actually happened.

This is about conflicting information coming from an employee vs. what actually happens, and NOT just for my specific server's instance.

What I am saying is if Customer Service employees are told by someone else above them / in the group that actually handles the merges that annoucenemts are sent to the respective servers, past, present, and future, 1-2 weeks away from their merge date, then that could explain why people are getting upset about it and the CS reps don't understand why there is so much angst. If CS believes that there is a 1-2 week lead-in time before the merge, then I could honestly somewhat understand not being willing to be very sympathetic towards people. However the reality is that customers are only informed 1-2 days ahead of the merge, not 1-2 weeks.

What I was saying about N4 is that if we had been given 1-2 weeks, I doubt if I would've even been here posting about it. Most people had not started to travel yet on December 17th, but by December 22nd, when we got the notice, people were already starting to travel to their holiday destinations...

Since I am told that I can only focus on my server, then that is the only perspective I am offering...that if the assertion by an employee actually happened, then that would've greatly limited the backlash from customers. That assertion, "typically" or not, did not happen for us, nor any of the others that I'm aware of, although I do admit that some could've gotten more than 2 days notice.

HOWEVER...as I said, this applies to past, present (none going on that I'm aware of), AND FUTURE merges. My suggestion to customers is not to think that you're going to get 1-2 weeks of notice, but more along the lines of 1-2 days, so you might want to be prepared.

Most everyone is aware of the previous merging situations, and anyone with some fluff between their ears can know what to sift through with the upper management writes to us. If they haven't figured it out through the 20 billion threads about merges, what happens, the pros the cons and the mess ups then they wont get it now.

This thread is pointless you have no point other then to complain that your server merged on xmas. Just like the countless other threads you have posted on about it. Let it go and move on.

I am pointing out conflicting information.

You have your priorities, I have mine. You either need to respect mine, or stop thinking that yours (stuff going on in server 27 forum) are more important.

lol everything on 27 is more important.

And there is absolutely nothing going on in that forum snoopy.

I'm stating a fact, your thread is pointless. Your point is over made and you are just talking to hear your own voice.

So once again I shall say, Get over it and have FUN, it's a GAME

And for the record I'm done posting on this, it's pointless and redundant.
