Alright, let me set the record straight. First, we have no intention of deleting this thread.
We want to provide as many payment options as possible to our members. Some members prefer PayPal, others Moneybookers. You can use either one. Its totally up to you. I'm sorry if anyone has had a bad experience with Moneybookers but they are not disreputable or "shady." In fact, quite the opposite.
Your account was probably locked because you made a payment and then filed a chargeback on that payment.
If someone makes a payment with Moneybookers, and then reverses the payment (as you apparently did) and then tries to reinstate the payment, that would raise red flags in any organization. They would want to know a few things:
- Why was a the payment charged back?
- Why was the chargeback subsequently reversed?
- Is an unauthorized person trying to access your account to make this payment?
I would have a question as well. Why did you pay for coins and then reverse the charges after you got them? Maybe its all just a big misunderstanding, but thats what Moneybookers is trying to clear up by verifying that you are the person you claim to be.
They are being prudent and trying to protect your identity, not steal it.

I agree with the moderator. I run a jewelry business and am often required to obtain photocopies of ID for large or suspect purchases - or if (heaven forbid) there is a chargeback. A chargeback is when the Credit Card holder says, "I didn't make that charge" OR "the product was not delivered or was incorrect, etc." and contacts their bank, etc. and asks for the charge to be reversed. The bank will immediately reverse the charge and it's up to the merchant (moneybookers in this case) to prove that the charge is legitimate.
They are entirely within their rights to ask for identification, etc., in order to back up the order. When a client refuses to supply identification, fraud is presumed and an investigation is opened thereafter. You don't want that, legit or not as it can result in a freeze of ALL your credit accounts until resolved.
Just a heads up on how things work. It's always good to check out ANYONE asking for personal information, but once you have performed due diligence - give them what they need to do their business.
Drat drat drat drat drat!!!!!!
I saw the title of this thread and said to myself, "Aha! I can delete that one right off!"
Sadly, I made the mistake of reading the first post, which of course is nothing worthy of deletion. I nearly shrugged that off and hit the delete button anyways, but I got sucked in and ended up reading the whole darn thread. Come to that line by Dawnseeker and realized that my plans to delete this thread have gone completely up in smoke.
I gotta find something else to delete.
