Thread: New Spy Tactic

    Default New Spy Tactic

I just thought of a new spy tactic.
I doubt that I'm truly the first person to think of this tactic, but I have not seen it discussed in any threads.

There are many threads complaining about the solo scout attack being used to create a report so spies can send the link to their home alliance. It's annoying and people are always trying to come up with solutions to stop this tactic. I do not like spies. I do not condone spies. If I'm in a position in the alliance to sway the decisions of the leadership, I will dissuade the use of any spies. But, as long as they still exist, it opens the opportunity for another tactic.

First, do not use a spy, you don't need them. If you have an enemy alliance that is causing trouble, then send token solo scout attacks. Send them to a large variety of target locations, and send them often. The enemy alliance should be getting wary now. Send more attacks. The enemy will begin trying to root out the spy (which does not exist). Send more attacks. The enemy will begin kicking people for the smallest reasons if they are even slightly suspect. Send more attacks. The enemy leaders will be going nuts trying to find the spy. You will create such a fuss inside the enemy alliance.

It's shady, but it's not actual spying. And it could lead to some very humorous outcomes.

Rota; another way to cause discord among an enemy alliance is to "Accidently" mess up a misleading whisper to one of their members. That way it pops up in world chat, and hopefully if you do that enough then it will cause even more discord.

Me personally, I just seduce the enemy with old Honduran Love songs.

Asking for rep is gauche, friend. Make good posts and you'll get rep, there's no need to self-promote.

It is a very good tactic in theory. However spys are sort of against the in-game rules. One is only allowed a single account per server, so the spy account can not be an alternate account if this is to be legal. Acgaully joining an enemy alliance just to spy or manage to talk a member of an enemy alliance itno doign the dirty deed is a part of the gameplay that should be respected.

SO I am fine with this tactic as long as it is a real single account player that does the spying.

But Rota, without self promotion how can I become Host of my one man Alliance?

It may not be your original Intent, but I just think that Allied War Reports should have the same limitation as if an enemy attacks, if you do not cause 10% losses it should not post your troop numbers.

That would certainly cut down on the single scout-tards. But also you have to figure the most important knowledge a spy can give is finding out who is online and who is not at what time.

I always only have one account and it's the one I use to spy. I'd like to say those are great ideas which I've seen used many times and with great success.

On another note I'd like to send my condolences to alliance PureWar on server 132, you've been Maximus18ed I'm afraid.
