Metal's hugely misunderstood. People think of Slipknot and Metallica when they say metal.. Bands like them just ruin it for everybody else. Epic NWOBHM bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dio, there's the bands like Rainbow, Deep Purple, and other awesome bands, including the power metal bands Symphony X, Kamelot, Stratovarius, Galneryus, Rhapsody of Fire, Sonata Arctica, etc. Also neo-classical metal, with the godly Yngwie Malsteem, and followed by Warmen, and many other great bands.
Metal is a beautiful thing, and hugely misunderstood.

There are 2 genres I dislike: Metal (Screamo) and Rap. (Im not a big fan of Classical Music either, but it's tolerable)

Metal is just screaming into a microphone, playing random things on the guitar, with the amps turned up all the way...

Rap is just a bunch of people talking, with a bit of beat added...

Everything else I like, ranging from Country Rock to Hard Rock.

Yeah. That's EXACTLY the misconception of metal. Metal isn't random screaming and guitar playing! Proper metal is a carefully constructed piece of art.
