Metal is some of the most inspirational music there is, and what you're talking about sounds a whole lot more like rap. Take Soldier Side, for instance. It's one of my favorite songs, it happens to be by a metal band, and it's really poignant and deep. Youtube it or something, you'll see what I mean.

Well, THAT actually isn't a bad song... I've heard a lot of songs by SOAD, and this is one of the mellower ones. So, I'll get em credit for that (Although, I might argue that the song wasn't metal at all, but it did have that metalish sound to it)

Your right, drugs, sex, and money was rap. Metal is more about death, loneliness, and darkness... it just kinda makes you feel down, instead of inspired.
