    Well if the cities can produce enough food to feed small armies, then that many cities so close can reinforce quickly. Even if the cities each just have 100k troops, they can reinforce up to a quantity of millions very fast. There would be no need to farm NPC's if they produced enough food to feed the troops(or enough lumber/iron to sell for food from the market). This reinforcement strategy would also require a highly active group of people who are online almost all the time.

    You are correct BUT! don't forget you can only reinforce 1million troops at a time and easy would it be to just feint attack one or two and pound another lol real easy to do.

    One theory is that they are camoflaging their main city.. Either way you could really never produce the resources necessary to support any type of attacking army. Just imagine 9 or 10 valleys per city up there.
