Thread: Age II Set Up For Coiners?

Default Age II Set Up For Coiners?

I have seen alot of posts saying that Age II is set up for coiners to get ahead. From what I can see most of the new items are way overpriced for the good they will do you. 20 cents for the boxes will get ya 1 pt for your hero, after level 2 you then have to buy a Lost armor script, another 40 cents. The strategems... pfft letem spend their money on that, I didn't see any worth the money. The new dream truces..whos gonna spend that kinda money to play a game less often?

Both versions are set up for coin buyers to get ahead obviously, the new version just has more empty junk for ppl to buy.

You underestimate people's buying abilities greatly, you also don't seem to understand the effects small things like this will have on the game

Someone with $2k to drop can get a maxed hero, or atleast one around 600 Att, while the rest of us sit at around 250.

Exaggerating your troop numbers, understating your troop numbers, and all the other (unfair) stratagems only make it ten times easier for them succeed.

But in the end, the hero level is the biggest thing in evony. If you can train 3s archers and your enemy 20s archers, guess who's gonna win in a fight?

Lets also not forget your heroes run out of strength too. but for $16 you can fix that.

So how about we shut this money buyer down? Oh wait, while he sleeps and goes to school hes in truce. Every. Single. Day.

When he's online, basically impossible to take his city with him being garrisoned, and him making 3s archers. Also, he makes your troops take 30% longer to march.

After that? He burns 50% of the food in your city. He decreases 30 to 80% of your heroes strength, and reduces your heroes loyalty by 10 to 50%. He puts your public grievance up by 15. Then, he makes his cav waves take 30% less time to loyalty spam down your city.

So, now how significant do stratagems and P2P players seem?

If you drop $2k on Age one the same thing will happen, you do the autocents get god knows how many ammys and cents per day and spin spin spin till you get a holy helm. In those spins you get maybe 20 on wars leveling ur hero up even more. Add 50 ivory horns, 10 ultra cors, 30 war ensigns, Prinz day 1, and you Da Man.

yes, but that is all based on chance, in age 2 it has become without chance, you can know exactly how much money you need to spend before you get your uber hero before you are even out of BP.
Everything that has a beginning, has an ending.

Ah yes. But you can kill a rich idiot on Age I, with the right knowledge of mechs and the like. You can know nothing about the game in Age II and beat the best of the best. If you have money, you win. Simple as that. Money should give you a *slight* "advantage" NOT a guaranteed victory.

EDIT: Also, you are limited on Age II. While someone could buy 1,000 On Wars in Age I, you have the ability to eventually catch up. In Age II, you CANNOT get past ~250 attack unless you spend money. No matter what. Now if they added gemstones/iron/wood/fabrics to NPC drops (whether it be a 10% drop or a 1% drop) you still have the ability to reach that high. But since they are only obtained through coins, it is impossible to get there. Personally I think that's where cents cross the line.

Indeed if you cannot possibly access the entire game without paying it is no longer a "free" game it is a "demo" version or "free demo" version. It isn't "free" unless the entire feature set is available for free.

After you spend money to do so.

Their Slogan for Age II should be:

Evony Age II - Free forever*

Then in very small type add:

*Evony Age II's free version is limited and handicaps non-paying players greatly to encourage players to buy. Unlike Age I, you'll need to buy a lot too because we've added a whole slew of items for you to buy to get that competitive advantage.

I'm definetely turned off by the number of items that need to be bought (and I'm a paying player that has spent a lot on the game). I'd much rather spend money to remove the boring features and limit the time you have to play. How about the ability to queue up multiple buildings by paying for that feature? Or the ability to auto-queue troops by paying for that feature.

If they really want to rake in the cash (which is clear they do by the added items, costs and need of them) then do it in a much more useful way!

Give us Santa's cookies to buy as a regular item and watch the profit skyrocket.

Now, we're still in beta. We've been discussing, over on the Beta forums, about how it is possible that these items will become NPC drops and/or wheel items. Nothing is set in stone, and we're taking these concerns to the devs.
