Thread: OTD's Progression

Actually, Lord D's minions were called 'domos', and the rogue mod's name was Sovverf. (I hope that it's no longer a death sentence to say his name... *hides*)

And you should divide it into the 'ages' of the OTD, something like Ovid's.

I really, really hope that was sarcasm. Elsworth was infamous for the fact that all of his RPs were doomed to fail. And he was pretty annoying, too.

Thanks Axer but I had hoped for something larger in scope. You were Modding this place for a good while. How do you see it's past and possible future?

Hmmm... that's a toughie. I kinda feel like an old guy asked about life when he was younger.

"I used to mow lawns for a whole month just for one nickel! And then I could go buy a new bicycle when I saved up 6 nickels! Bicycles only cost more nowadays because all of you whippersnappers are too fat and lazy!"

"Grampa... I'm writing an essay on the whole 1950's, not just your crazy facts about bicycles..."

"Shut up, kid! I'm talking here! Now, way back in nineteen tickety nine, that ******* Hoover had just started the Great Depression..."

Exactly. Oh, and I deny this the OTD Seal of Approval until the vain self-promotion is removed.

You forgot the dawning of the Sword and Shield, the coming of Law and Order, the Dynamic Duo, the Frenchman and the Andorrian (Lol- Pieman).

Or our celebrity couple name, Wilmen.

    Lemme give a history lesson.

A long time ago, in the very same forum you read this in, there was spam. The OTD was birthed from spam, spam for a game called Civony. I saw this, and was repulsed. I back out slowly and retreated back to my cave, Game Suggestions.

Soon, I wrote some Civony poetry. Lame stuff, still- I posted a thread in OTD. I think it got exactly 0 responses. Once again, I retreated into Game Suggestions.

I realized in game, I was very good at telling people what was what. So I wrote my guide. I offered it as a pdf, and got over 250 subscribers. Surprised at this number, I realized people DID respect what I wrote.

So, I ventured into OTD and found an epic battle taking place, In one corner, weighing in at 500 pounds, LORD DRASYR!!! And in this corner, weighing in at 12.5 lbs, NEVERAR!!! Or something like that. I posted my first post in OTD (besides my poetry) in that thread. It consisted of me being fried I believe.

From there, the person who really lead me to coming out of my shell in OTD was Conrad J. he spurred intellect, and I loved to talk in his threads.

    To be continued. Maybe.

How about my perspective as one of the oldest members of OTD, preceding Lord Domo, Zenrax and Joe.

When I joined there were but 5 threads in the OTD, the names of which I cannot recall. I took it upon myself to create the thread for Riddles/Brainteasers, and quickly stumped jaange, and BBQ_Sauce. The next day I logged on and something weird happened, BBQ had a green name. He became one of the original mods of OTD.

All went well for about a week until a spammer disguised as a domo came in calling himself Lord_Draszyr. I quickly wrote him off as an annoying twit spammer, as he had 4 times the amount of posts I had within a day. Little did I know he would go on to be our glorious ruler.

The Domo and I became friends before he was made green, which started a weird ass trend of me becoming friends with people, and then them being appointed modship i.e.: Kitti, Foxybunny, Logrus, Heraclius.

Eventually the domo faded into non-existance and new mods came and went in a period that could mainly be seen as dull, where all the days meshed together. Els is incorrect in that the Armies happened BEFORE the shops.

I may add details, though I probably wont
