Here in Australia there is a man who goes by the name of Peter Pedals.
He has been advocating and developing alternative power sources for a very long time and now is a partner in the Rainbow Power Company. They can design and install stand alone power systems of wind/hydro/solar for any size household and also sell spe******ed appliances that are more energy efficient than the norm.

Anyway, in his early days he developed a number of different pedal powered appliances, including a pedal powered laptop. That is how he got his name. The pedalling was done in a slightly reclined sitting position and was not too strenuous. Imagine a world where you could log on and get a bit of mild cardio exercise all in one.

Of course humanity could live without electricity. If people way back in B.C. and A.D. lived without, then so could we. Electricity just makes our lives easier and less man work than back then. The world does and is changing every year and generation to generation.

Imagine kinda like gotti stated, what about hospitals, those things they use in ambulances(Defib-something) all that gone.
Things like hospitals are unnecessary for mankind's survival. It is possible for us to survive without technology but human population will be only a fraction of what it is now.

I think your intent in the OP was to transplant the people of the modern world to a stone age type environment with no electricity.

    What if...

The electromagnetic field surrounding the earth goes wacky and fries every electric device on the planet. It is now in such a bizarre state, that no new electrical devices can be created, they will simply fry as well. Could we survive only without electricity.

But we would not revert to the stone age. Modern man has knowledge and ingenuity that stone age man simply could not possess. We would create all sorts of inventions using classic power sources like water and wind and steam. I'm not talking about a hydroelectric dam, but rather a water wheel to drive gears in a mill.

If you take away all our knowledge of such things, then your not testing modern man in a stone age environment. Your simply looking at stone age man in a stone age environment. They made it through once, they can do it again.

COULD the human race survive? Most likely, although it would take years of readjustment and alot of steps 'backwards' ..
WOULD the human race want to survive this way - i honestly don't think so.
One could use the argument that the technological advances that have been made are too precious to lose...yes, some of them are, however, many of today's problems ie: pollution, mutated diseases, and health problems (many due to lack of physical activities) is a direct result of these 'technological advances'. What needs to happen is a happy medium...and that may be wishful thinking short-term, but long-term, if people were to prioritize...REALLY prioritize the important things in life...we would soon find ourselves enjoying the little things more and relying less on the bigger things to make us feel accomplished. Simple pleasures in life can be just as rewarding...we shouldn't lose sight of that..at least not before the lights go out - for good!
