I watched two horror movies recently, and they both sucked for the same reason, despite being very different horror sub genres.
Saw VI - So the character who we track makes a living finding loopholes in people's heath insurance so as to deny them coverage. Drag Me To Hell - the main character is a bank clerk who of her own free choice denies an old lady an extension to her mortgage, making her homeless. Both these movies try to be topical by tackling real life issues, but the effect for me was that I couldn't wait for both the main characters to meet their sticky ends. I felt no sympathy for either of them, and while the Saw franchise is a trashfest, I expect better from Sam Raimi who did such a good job with the Evil Dead series.
Oh you better share the delicious details with us...
