How do you clear out the abatis? I've been raiding a city with 1000s of archers, warriors, swordsmen and though they always win with no casualties, the cities abatis remain so I cant attack with scouts.

Also, fwiw, when I first attacked the city I was up against his army AND fortifications which seems to contradict the popular theory here that regardless of your gate status, you cant defend with both army and fortifications.
