Medal Farming

I was too lazy to do the method where you send lots of waves at a valley and abandon it just before the next attack arrives (it also can take 100s and 100s of attacks to get enough medals and is not guaranteed to work) so I tried this method for the 1st time today:
1) Make sure you DON'T have any open valley slots in your town hall
2) Scout level 10 flats (haven't tried any others yet but flats do have the best medal return)
3) Send 20k archers to the valleys that DON'T have any archers or cavalry (for ones that have just archers send cavalry equal to no. of archers plus one scout)
4) Send an attack hero so you won't have losses
5) I heard having hero loyalty at 100 helps drop more medals
6) Wait an hour for the valley to regenerate fully and attack again (if you capture it, the troop type will change and you won't be able to attack it again without losses)
This method is not guaranteed to work either and I would appreciate it if people corrected me on mistakes or things that could be improved. I have attacked 10 level 10 flats today and got a return of: 2 Cross, 1 Lion, 1 Wisdom and 1 Nation medal. This was achieved on server 105 where the drop rates are usually terrible to say the least.
