    Default Attacking long distance

I am part of an alliance who are frequently at war, as you can imagine alot of these enemys arent next door to my city so I am forced to send tropps on attacks as long as 10 hours at times. Why then do evony make me send transporters with them to carry the food to feed them for the attack. Over them distances its just stupid. Sureley an attack should be allowed to go out full strength and as fast as possible?

    seriously?

you need transporters because they are supposed to mimic life. the longer the march the more food you will need. they have a set load amount they can each carry. so when the distance outweighs what food they can carry then you need transports. if they don't have enough food to make the trip then, like in real life, they will starve to death. so the game doesn't allow you to kill your troops by starvation.

if they are too far then make a war city and teleport to them.

I cant honestly see how the game is supposed to mimic life when you can teleport your city. Or is it supposed to mimic life unles you are willing to play with cash? Thats a different debate altogether though.

You are absolutely right. Instead of getting into the whole "mimic life" idea (and yes you can get transporters even without cash - whoohoo!) lets focus on the way the system works.

The further away you are, the more resources you will need to bring with you just to survive the trip. Each different troop carries different ammounts, and the farther away your target, the more they have to be able to carry so they don't "starve to death". Hence transporters are useful for two things: Helping carry larger loads for big trips, and carrying back more resources from plundering close by.

Sometimes you CAN be too far away from a target to hit them with any kind of force. Which I understand and yet also hate

That's when conquering something half-way is useful.

    Compliments of the wonderful Warsimi!

First - send workers instead of transports.
Second - I have knocked over NPC10's from 230 miles away. Instead of attacking someone from 200+ miles away try finding a NPC10 nearby and capping it. You need 5 cities for this and all your heroes in those cities will be tied up for 20 hours but if you want to place yourself smack bang in the middle of your enemies this is what you do

define "knocked over"? You've conquered them from that distance? Instaconquered or conquered? That's a loooong way.

My longest distance level 10 capture was fifty miles away. It took an alliance mate 30 miles away to help and cost me an extra 10K cavalry because the waves weren't quite timed right.

Taking a lvl 230 miles away seems far fetched.

Furthest I've instaconquered was 113.5 miles, and due to a lack of planning, I had to improvise several waves when I realized I couldn't camp enough with certain waves. I try to keep it within 100 miles now for simplicity. The only way I could see doing it 230 miles away is with 39+ waves which include transporters and use an obscene amount of food... to the point where I'd look at a simpler option. Sure it can be done, but seems kinda insane... a "just to say I did it" kinda thing. Now I'm tempted. lol
