    Default Terms of Use Agreement Section 2, 1-8

    Just in case anyone wanted to know what it was.... However I do not see how that effects the forums as they are separate entities.

    2 Additional License Limitations.
    The license granted to you in Section 1 is subject to the limitations set forth in Sections 1 and 2 (collectively, the "License Limitations"). Any use of the Service or the Game Client in violation of the License Limitations will be regarded as an infringement of REGAN MERCANTILE US, LLC?s copyrights in and to the Game. You agree that you will not, under any circumstances:

    1. use cheats, automation software (****), hacks, mods or any other unauthorized third-party software, databases or scripts designed to modify the Evony experience;
    2. exploit the Game or any of its parts, including without limitation the Service, for any commercial purpose, including without limitation (a) for gathering in-game currency, items or resources for sale outside the Game; or (b) performing in-game services in exchange for payment outside the Game, e.g., power-leveling;
    3. use any unauthorized third-party software that intercepts, "mines", or otherwise collects information from or through the Game or the Service, including without limitation any software that reads areas used by the Game to store information about a character or the game environment; provided, however, that REGAN MERCANTILE US, LLC may, at its sole and absolute discretion, allow the use of certain third party user interfaces;
    4. modify or cause to be modified any files that are a part of the Game Client or the Service in any way not expressly authorized by REGAN MERCANTILE US, LLC;
    5. host, provide or develop matchmaking services for the Game or the Service, or intercept, emulate or redirect the communication protocols used by REGAN MERCANTILE US, LLC in any way, for any purpose, including without limitation unauthorized play over the internet, network play, or as part of content aggregation networks;
    6. facilitate, create or maintain any unauthorized connection to the Game or the Service, including without limitation (a) any connection to any unauthorized server that emulates, or attempts to emulate, the Service; and (b) any connection using programs or tools not expressly approved by REGAN MERCANTILE US, LLC; or
    7. disrupt or assist in the disruption of (i) any computer used to support the Service (each a "Server"); or (ii) any other player's Game experience. ANY ATTEMPT BY YOU TO DISRUPT THE SERVICE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GAME CLIENT MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. You agree that you will not violate any applicable law or regulation in connection with your use of the Game Client or the Service.
    8. Prohibition on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation, and Disassembly.
    You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Evony, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation.

    A reply that I was going to write in the Evony Sucks thread on Thalin's uttering of 'We dont warn players before we suspend accounts'.

    The following;

    Yet when you run a game with paying customers, the 'correct' process would be a warning, then a suspension.

    Take a look at the World of Warcraft management, tech support and customer service. Oh, but wait, I suppose you know all about WoW, because you've stood knee-deep in the dark side of that game, namely gold selling.

    This game will not last long if it deals with customer issues the way it does. But I am guessing that's also the key ingredient for developing an Age II. A fresh start. A new opportunity to build a playerbase with the same goal as Age I: making as much money as possible, only to create a disgruntled playerbase half a year later as people reach the endgame again.

    Good luck.

    Which would be ultimate proof this company is as fishy as it seems to be.

    And the game too.

    I've never cursed or said anything that was not true. So if you see a big fat line through my name one of the coming days, everyone knows how true my statements have been.

    This is not "their forum" in fact. Evony "rents" this forum.

    Evony might be their business, but I am a customer of their business and therefore I am covered under certain rights as a customer. We in the United States call it the "Code of Business Ethics" and various other pieces of litigation that protect the rights of customers and govern the proper methods for conducting business.

    Which would ultimately lead me to call on legal action to ensure Evony becomes a EU court issue. The European Union has a very strong workgroup for enforcing consumer rights, they will be more than happy to take my case as I have already done some fieldwork. Their potential proof is all over this forum, it will be impossible to silence all the voices on it without being blatantly obvious and damaging Evony even more.

    The least they can and probably will do is attempt to fine and/or ban the product Evony from European ISPs. A Chinese company is not exempt from this, as they bring a product onto the European market. The fact that its being done over the internet does not make a company untouchable - we just cut off half the playerbase like this, easy enough. There have already been offical complaints in the past regarding Evony's advertising.

    But as long as voices are heard, responded to adequately and handled within legal (and ethical, mind you) bounds, I see no reason to do this yet.

    This is not about freedom of speech. It is about standing for your rights as a consumer of a paid product - you have these rights too. If Evony bans without a proper reasoning while your complaint has not been filed/dealt with, it is no longer a legal or justifiable move to make. Evony claims this forum is the place to do so - hence they have created their own problem.

    But that's Evony all the way.

    It doesn't really matter... We agreed to those terms. If they don't want to give us reasons for banning etc... then so be it.
    Granted, it sucks that you don't get a reason, but we already agreed to it.

    I know about 80% of the people don't read the terms of use, until they get banned or suspended lol.

    When you agree to a terms of use before using a product... then it is a legal agreement.

    They can hold this in court and win with out a doubt.
    No matter how exaggerated the terms can be... if you agree to them, then you must follow them or face consequences.

    The best thing to do about stuff like this is to stop using the product.

    Really? You think so? Please explain the United States hedge fund crisis and the bailouts given by the government. Explain the too numerous to count law suits that have granted plaintiffs exuberant amounts of money.
