    So, does that mean that if I went and got a b.o.t. I would be allowed to cheat from now until the next sweep? Since, you're making it clear that the only punishment for using a b.o.t. is a free 3day vacation where I will actually get a full nights sleep without having to worry about waking up sans cities.

    Anyone who downloads and uses a b.o.t. KNOWS they are cheeting. Even if it is just a first offense, a 3day suspension is NOT a disincentive.

    I know of certain set of players/multis who ALL b.o.t. and have been caught up in every b.o.t. sweep. They always return from their free vacations at full strength and continue rolling over the server with b.o.t. help. They crush dozens upon dozens of players. The vast majority of these completely crushed legit players are so disheartened, they just quit the server(most of those probably quit Evony altogether).

    Please reassure me there is going to be actual punishment.

We're not surprised by this, but neither should other players be taken in by them.

    These are the players we're banning. These are the cheaters we are removing from the game so that our honest players may continue. This is why threats of "lost money" from the cheaters do no matter to us. We knew we would lose their money when we banned them. We don't care how much they spent every month.

    A cheater is a cheater and I'm proud that we categorically removed every cheater we found, regardless of their spending habits. We didn't catch them all, but we will eventually.

    Every time we sweep the floor, we're going to get some fallout on the forums and I pledge to you, our honest players and innocent forum goers that I will be here to drop the hammer on the cheaters who try to use these forums to strike back at the game in revenge for being banned for cheating.

    So a message to all botters: If this is your first suspension, stop botting. Don't bother coming here and trying to garner sympathy or disrupt our forums.     That is good, but i did not botted yet I am here.
    You said a handful were caught in this sweep. well I am here again for the second time for botting I DID NOT DO as stated i my email...

    I hope I won't get sweep on the third time for botting.

    I was wondering why i keep getting hero hunting applied or something like that when i did not have any, I assume it was hero hunting cause it flashes soo fast for me to ever read it, but I did took noticed of.

    I have have said it before and I will say it again, I did not ***, and will not, dispite the need to

    To back up what Dawnseeker just said (and plus rep for that), I want you to know that we are quite aware of the self-satisfied smirks on the faces of many of the cheaters. We'll be removing those smirks, I promise. I expect another forum storm, but that's fine.

    I doubt you're allowed to tell us what that punishment will be. But, I'm keeping an eye on the people I referenced. I look forward to their #'s changing(# of cities, prestige, etc...). I look forward to quite a few heros disappearing from the list.

    If the punishment is something like "a total wipe of troops and defenses," then I would appreciate that being announced. that way I know it's all clear to rush them with the puny army I have left on that server. Maybe have a chance at getting a decent hero back. I lost all my good ones when i awoke one morning to a TON of simultaneous attacks that took all but my worst city.

    The reason there is so much backlash this time is the database of people red flagged was not cleared. People who ceased cheating were rebanned for their former offense. This time far more 'innocent' were caught up than last time.

    Prime example. A month ago I was banned on s100 for using automated software. I have not logged on s100 since. When this set of bans happened I was banned again on s100.

    Another example, players permanently banned received an email stating they have a 3 day ban a month after they have been able to log in.

    I'll live with my rebanning but until the evony staff can ensure that the list will be reset I will have to assume that I will be banned a third time for the same offense on the next go round. Probably permanently. I know you have said otherwise but my account on s100 has made it clear that I cannot count on that.

    I repped Dawn for that as well, and I have markedly seen vast improvement in Customer Relations since I have come onto these forums--seriously come onto them, in late October to mid-November.

    There are far fewer complaints, more problems solved and more botters Valkirized (See the Off-Topic Dictionary for that) than ever before.

    I am proud of the Evony Team of making these hurdles, especially in my server. There are lots of people now under suspension for botting, and I am happy to know that they were caught and being brought to justice.

    For now I will continue on because I have made some very good friends within the game, but your hold on me and my friends is very thin. Should a similar game appear may the gaming gods be with you. You may then discover how strong your hold is, or is not!

    Until further notice I will continue to play but for how long is up to you and the way you handle business.

    IMPROVE your support and communication to members immediately, you owe it to every one.

    I made a reply to the OP and my reply concerned customer service, which to me is what the OP was talking about when they talk about support. My post was removed and I was told it had nothing to do with the OP. I thought it had more to do with the OP than all the talk about cheats. This might cost me my posting privelleges but here is that reply. (copy & paste)

    Back to the OP and comments on the lack of customer service.
    Here is my experience with another online game company and a comparison to the company that runs Evony.

    Whilst playing another free to play online game, which was an MMORPG with a very large and active membership, I made a mistake during gameplay that caused me to lose a quest item that was important to my character's development. Note that I said that I made a mistake, it was my fault as I accidentally sold the item to an npc without realising it. My first point of contact was their forums. I admitted I had made a big mistake and just asked if there was any way that I could get the item, even if I had to buy it from another player. I was advised to submit a report to customer service, explaining what had happened and see what they could do. So I did and within minutes I got the automated response to say that my report had been received. Within 8 hours I received a second email from a customer service representative asking me for further details regarding time and quest name etc. I had to hunt around a bit to get all the information and the exact time was a bit vague. I submitted the details I had, still aware that it had been my fault and not a bug or glitch. The next working day I received a second email from the customer service rep to tell me that the only thing they could do was reset the quest for me. It was almost apologetic in tone that they could not do more. I have to say I was rapt. It was an amazingly good response from a busy customer service department.

    Now to my experience with Evony customer service. I had occasion to make a report of some major troop losses when I used an advanced teleporter. Basically, every unit in the city disappeared when I teleported. Advanced teleporters are a pay for item and they never drop in the game as far as I know. I made my report and included all the information I could. I got the automated email response the next day. That was it. I made a second report about a week later about the same issue. I got the same automated response and never heard from a real person. I then came into the forums and made a bug report. No moderator responded. A few players responded and told me I would never get my troops back and that it was a known bug and they were waiting for a fix. To this day, I have never had a response from a customer service operator regarding my report. That was May last year.

    I have been lucky in that I have always got what I paid for and have had no other customer service issues to report since then. But I am aware that, despite the claims that the company that runs Evony is improving customer service and customer service is important to them, there has been little or no improvement since the time that I had my issue.

    What about those who didn't botted?
    Could you please have refugees on report so I can show you or anyone for that matter as proof in the future that I do lose troops from lack of farming or not enough of.
    There is nothing satisfying about being suspended, I am trying to be humorous to keep my frustration at check.
    However, if that statement is an indication of further punishment, it is a concern to me, considering this is my second suspension for botting I did not do.

    No disrepect to you or any of the reps, it is just a frustrated players trying to get answers and a very concern one for that matter.

    Would you mind giving us some insight on this?

    It's been said many times before... and I'll say it again. For those that play this game the correct way, plus spend actual money on it, we are extremely upset. I'm close to giving it all up. I put the time and money in to get where I am. The people who have used automated "friends", are nice and comfy... not having to worry about their army eating them into refuge.

    How will you be "removing those smirks"?

    I understand this is an extremely large task.... but take care of the people who do it the "right" way! Keep us in the loop.
