Agreed. I feel like the whole "sweep" maneuver is just lazy and ill-conceived. It shows no initiative, and it is not going to solve the problem. I have knowledge of an alliance I am at war with, and they ALL use ****, some of them have multiple personal accounts, and not a single one was suspended. Meanwhile, big players from my alliance that were either botting or flagged for multiple account use are on holiday, and these cheaters are running wild, completely wrecking the smaller players who did not cheat from my alliance. The big guys are going to come back to find most of our smaller members gone and npc'd, and the players are going to leave the game. I talk to some of my members on the phone voice chat, and paying players have already resigned from Evony due to this. I don't mean 10 dollars here or there players, I mean 500usd a month autocents players. We have actually already started playing saga online, and these members have purchased the full version and have moved over there permanently. They are using the 3 days to get situated in the other game so they can get back into Evony and usher our members away into saga. This is really going to be the death of Evony, in my honest opinion.

While I agree that cheateers must be dealt with, there are far better ways to go about it.

And what would happen if they removed all those rules involving multipe accounts?
But....the eternal ray of sunshine REALLY wanted to see you, so I helped brighten your day by removing the city from around you! ^.^

    Nothing that's not already happening.

I'm sure it would be worse.

Multi-accounting is already bad. Whether many people report the guy or not, he will still remain there.

A guy on server 48 has about 15 accounts, and those are just the ones we know of. Then he usually makes alliances and sucks people in, and tells them, "Give me your info in case you get attacked, I will log in and heal." (or something to those lines).
But instead of just doing that... he also keeps their info and uses their accounts for his personal.
That adds even more to his total # of accounts.
Not to mention this guy also has a sleeping disorder which means he is on nearly 24/7.

I at one time sent a report on every name he was on. But nothing happened.
He still remained there. These names are diverse, and it's hard to tell when it's him or not. He even had an account in my alliance and spied almost non-stop with it. It was a pure lose-lose situation for my alliance then.

They can't stop those who have multiple accounts, without human intervention and looking into them... But we must also consider, there are over 11 million people they will have to sift through.
    Aliases: Ancient, Parkison, Sarcastro
    Aliances: Karnage, WAR, PRIDE
    Servers: w1, s39, s48 (SS10), s65, ageii beta

Not if they got rid of the multi-accounts, then they'd only have ~100k to deal with {:-)

I guess I'm trying to say that if they can sift through 11 million players to do a full sweep of suspensions, couldn't they sift through 11 million players and send a mail asking for an explanation, or at least a courtesy mail saying that if you don't stop doing this and this that we suspect you of, we will suspend you?

    A word on "multi-account users"...

There is a large amount of time involved managing just one account correctly, I have 1 account, and do account sit occasionally for other members who get hit with what we call "Real life". It kills me to 'account sit' when I have to, it takes me more time than I already have to farm and take care of my 1 account, but I do this because I understand it's neccessary for everyone at one time or another to have help, if they play often enough and have troops. I know a few people who manage more than 1 account, they are paying account users who take Evony and the game seriously. I don't consider multi-accounting cheating, if someone has the time to do it and maintain both accounts then bravo and kudos to them. "B#tting" is cheating -you're running a program to do it for you and taking the man hours out of it.

Several months ago, myself and a few friends started a gaming group where we get together and play at each other's homes - it's not always Evony, sometimes NapWars or xbox or whathave you. I also log in on some of their computers when I don't have my laptop with me - I haven't been banned yet, the sweep hasn't affected me, but we've all said that the day we are we will quit as there are so many other issues as well that go far beyond just the game. If you're wondering what these are, a simple google search should satisfy your curiosity, don't want to get "handled" here.

It just boggles my mind that Evony would want to ban people for figuring out ways to spend more money and more time on here....oh no, they run 2 accounts? Really? They're starting gaming groups and using each other's computers to log into Evony??? They're account sitting to do stuff in real life so they can still play the game when they get back from their dead grandmother's funeral??? Dad, Mom, Brother, and Sister all have accounts with Evony and some of them pay us money??? Oh, no...we gotta stop this...

I suggest people sit down and brain storm how each of these affect other players playing the game, and what aspects of this aren't "fair for everyone". The most common complaint I'm hearing is about reinforcements and farming...so start another account, or "buddy up" with someone in your alliance. This is a strategy game, and the strategy options are open to all...what isn't open to all is paying for an account - this does give someone a decidedly unfair advantage in terms of advancement. Also, having food consumed while you are at work, etc...if you can't use a "work computer/account" to log in and farm during break, the idiot on the couch at home collecting unemployment has a decidedly "unfair" advantage...and it gets expensive to pay for holiday everytime you need to take off and go to work/school/grandma's house/the bar for the weekend.

The big reason why people are investing so much time and money into playing this game is because they are trying to figure out how to keep their stuff when they're not here - well, and I'm sure the botters are botting for farming, because I know I can hardly keep up with 7 cities at neg 8 mil food per hour - and I know people that are at negative 20 mil or more an hour (one guy rumored to have neg. 50 mil per hour) - but it's the problem/solution plague that's got me passing off my account for the night and working out deals with alliance members to trade farming for a night away from my computer.

So yes, "Multi accounting" is the last thing I'd ever want to start doing, then I'd have to find more people to farm for me and spend more money on another account when I don't even have time for the 1 24 hours a day 7 days per week...which is just about what it takes to run/maintain a top alliance or be a top member on a server, believe me. Evony isn't a part time job, it's mostly full-time - but it's been that way since I started playing and since it's inception, the food makes it that way - so it's not the players making the game unfair for other players, it's a design foul.
