Default Will I be banned Again?

I'm curious how this plays out. There are a couple unaswered questions regarding alleged cheaters and especially considering some of the tough language a couple of the reps have used regarding this recent set of "suspensions".

First, assume a player is accused of cheating in some way and recieves a 3-day suspension and that player STOPS the alleged behavior as a result. Will that player be suspended repetitive times as *** sweeps are run repetitive times?

Second, assume a player is never accused of cheating and recognizes the possibility of being caught and STOPS the potentially illegal behavior as a result of this sweep. Will that player still face punishment even though he has stopped that illegal behavior?

Third, assume a player isn't botting, but instead performing illegal account sitting or account sharing, or multiaccounting and has or has not been caught. Will those players also face the same harsher treatment alluded to by the Evony reps?

No. The second thing I did after starting this game was think "wow, this would be so much easier with a ***".

This was while i was still in my 7 day BP. I Couldnt figure out how to get it to work, all I did was merely login to it.

The next day I was suspended for 3 days. This was about a month ago. I havent used the *** since, and I havent been suspended since, not even in this recent set of suspensions.

It is obvious to me that the *** is Easily detectible by evony, and I lack any sympathy for people who get banned for using the ***.

I also appreciate the 3-day suspension rule, and believe that if people get caught twice, then a ban should be issued.

    Hope this answers your question

You raise a valid point. The post from the admins stated that people were punished even if they were not currently using a cheat program. They should clarify whether or not people will be continually punished for past actions. What is the point of continuing if you will be suspended over and over again?

I have never used a program to cheat, though I will say that I have been very tempted to do so. To sustain the kind of army you need to defend yourself with in this game, you need to be constantly raiding npc's. There is no other way around it - you either chain yourself to this game, or you use one of the program scripts to farm for you.

Evony dug this hole themselves. They rarely punished cheaters early on, so it really shouldn't come as a surprise that people took advantage of that. I personally reported a few people for cheating (multiaccounting, account sharing), and I never once received a response. Those players continued to be active on the server I was on. The general mentality of the players became one where it was seen as a joke to report cheating, because the rules were never enforced.

So now here we are, several months after this game was first released. All of a sudden, the administration decides to actually enforce the rules. When I looked around the map on the server I play on (66), basically half the top players were on Holiday mode. These players I am certain spent a lot of money on this game. Does it make good business sense to punish your best customers for using tools that have basically become essential due to the style of gameplay that has become the norm?

The way I see it is this - either change the food requirements Evony, or provide people with a means to automatically raid npcs. This should be a game, not a second job. I think I speak for a large number of people when I say that. Playing the way I do, realistically I can only support 4-5 cities. Due to the time commitments it would require, for me to have 9-10 cities, I would need to farm automatically. What kind of a game operates like that?

This is a serious issue, and I think that more and more good paying customers will walk away if Evony continues operating in this way.

You can reduce the size of your army. I dont see a problem with the food requirements

If I reduced my army size, I would be obliterated. I don't even have that large of an army. Without cheating, I can maximally maintain troop levels with a food loss of -4 million per town, per hour. Beyond that, I cannot support any more. Others maintain much larger armies than that. I agree that it is unfair to have some people cheating while others play by the rules. I just think that the methods evony has employed to resolve this have not done anything to help the issue. Either enforce the rules all of the time (and target the right people), or provide the services that obviously so many people find necessary to maintain enjoyment in this game.

Also, some actual customer service would be nice too....

PLEASE don't dilute the content of this thread with food vs. army conversations. I'm very serious about wanting an answer to these questions. The truth is people cheated, ok we understand that. The second truth is, many of those people have been punished. And, a third truth is many of those that have cheated or considered cheating have stopped. So the question is, do they continue to be punished for a behavior that a) has been averted and b) has already been punished?

Most justice systems have a set of laws regarding double jeapordy. Meaning you can't be charged, tried, and convicted for the same crime twice. This also applies to most civil courts as well. So, I want to know how Evony is planning to handle this topic. We know from this last set of suspensions that even accounts that were previously PERMANENTLY BANNED were also suspended again. That means they paid no regard to the fact that many people were already punished for their behavior.

My advice is, next time you run the scan and send down suspensions/bans, you make sure the date range is 2/25/2010 to the present. Thanks.

We are aware that some changes need to be made, and we've now implemented those changes.

There will be no double jeopardy. Those who learn their lesson and stop cheating will not get in trouble again.

Those who don't learn or who think this is fun to get a free holiday will be crying in their cheerios next time.

We have lots of changes in the works, so please don't get discouraged. Our goal is to ensure a good game for our honest players.

no they got away with murder and now are hitting lots of legitamate players with millions an millions of troops to dump them, so the only people i see suffering are a lot of the people who played farely, you will lose a lot of players because of this and serve you all right.
