    Default Rule Enforcement thought...

I'm very sad, but this is my general feeling on the evony sting operation.

The people that got caught and punished with holiday mode for a few days will probably continue on doing what they were doing. It seems odd to me that most games, where people pay and do not pay to play enforce rules against che-eating very harshly. Generally your account gets deleted and you can start over, sometimes you get banned from a server permanently. Here the person gets holiday mode and when they come out all the advantages accumulated during their times of cheating are still there... If they used the BlOT to farm, the food and troops they accumulated are still there, if they used it to farm medals or take cities from neighbors by spamming to confuse online times, or by auto que of troops all those advantages are still present. If they used the BlOT to build their cities up by put up buildings or downgrading them same story.

Once a little leeway is given most of the times complete corruption ensues in games since now the slap on the wrist is really not commensurate with the advantage of using a BlOT or something else.

While 1 player is kept that spends money even though they are ch-eating, there are 5 more that leave the game that used to spend money that weren't. Yes the accountants will like that the person continues to spend money on evony they ignore the shrinkage in the customer base overall because those would have quit anyways. But really would they have?...

Thats the question are you destroying the customer base more by allowing it for paying and non paying customers alike or is it really more profitable...

None of the other pay to play or not pay to play online games, War craft, Everquest, Battlefield let people cheat, that was the appeal, u cheat ur gone... here u get a vacation... that is if u can afford one... profitable only because it seems to save customers on one end while the others that are fed up go out the other end...

P.S. Censorship for the stake of esthetics and pretending the problem does not exists, keeps pushing this game towards the cliff...

I am not going to go into details about the rights or wrongs of your post, as your opinion is your own. However try to keep something straight... Everquest and WarCraft are not selling virtual items. They sell a membership that requires all players to pay for the game in order to play.

Also, remember that Evony is a browser based game and not a client based game. Evony allows players to purchase advantages in the game, where as monthly membership games do not. Monthly membership games have the entire player base on equal playing fields where your participation and your skills are the things that set you apart from the other players.

    Just some food for thought.

Some monthly membership games allow you to purchase items, but not many. Instead, many other games use the same platform as Evony, where you purchase optional premium items (I can think of a half dozen of the top of my head). I would rather not pay a monthly fee for this game. I have never paid a cent and like this game very much.
Look for Heights in the RPG and story section

    Default use of b.o.t.s

Using them is like being on steroids.

    Bad news for honest players.

Not enforcing the rules is worse.

I myself play a "few" subscription games,as I like to be entertained. I work for a living, might as well enjoy the "Gaming World" for as it is,free or subscription based.

Agreed. Actually, most of the subscription games I play have a purchase items scenario.

Premium is where I would have to figure out the debate part. Premium being a travel power,an emote pack,a costume pack, powers that really have no effect on PvE or PvP enviroments,yes..they all do. Actual powers or priviledges that put one in a distinct and clear advantage over the system or another player? This I have not come across yet.
Example: Just spent 10 bucks on the Ninja Pack for City of H****. Included a sprint power, costumes, and emotes. Yeah, I got ripped, but a fan of the series...lol!
Mind you, none of this affects any actual gameplay whatsoever, with the pure exception of being able to run a bit faster in the worlds. If used in PvP purposes, the person you'll be fighting 99.99% of the time will have the "superspeed" power, which pretty much nullifies it anyway.

    Off-topic a bit...

Can we take b.o.t. off the censored list? It's a noun that is quite necessary and everyone is circumventing it just so people can understand their posts. It's ridiculous that it's censored.

I second this since it's a lot shorter than automation tool. *sigh*

This was not a sting operation and we're not going to unban botters.
