Here's a hint: Less valleys = less resource production. Less resource production = fewer troops built, and more food consumed.

Even though they supposedly don't use food during holiday mode, quite a few of them will not have logged in for most of the day after they've already come off of suspension.

If by chance your opponent was already running a thin line with food, this could mean they are now up to a page or more of refuge, making them an easier target.

Tough luck on them for getting suspended.
And if they were really botting, chances are that they've got a billions of food stockpiled in every city.

Less valleys = less production, sure. But even if you steal ALL my valleys per city, the production difference will be negligible. Maybe 500k per hour? And that#s being generous. A couple of millions of any resource won;t make a difference to any decent sized player and serves no purpose but to annoy him.

Stealing valleys is a valid tactic. It just makes you look silly if you're the same size as your opponent.
