Thread: Clarify intentions please

  1. #1

    Default Clarify intentions please

So after reading countless postings today of cheaters and non-cheaters unhappy with bannings, I would like Evony to clarify what the intenions are to address these issues on an individual basis. The apparent theme here is that everyone at Evony, reps/mods, are taking a hardnosed stance against anything posted here that doesn't praise Evony. Fine. Evony, this is the best online game I have played in years. (no, really)

Now, having said that, can we please get a response that is niether snide, ridiculing, overbearing or just plain nasty? Unlike others I am not here to complain but to get someone to clarify Evony's intentions. Here are the issues that I think a lot of people would like real meaningful answers to:

    1) Are the individual issues going to be addressed, and if so, in a timely fashion? You have a lot of users who are extremely displeased right now, cheaters or not so I assume this will get some extra attention.

    2) Is there a one strike rule in effect? If so, are you going to go back and ban ALL PAST players for any infractions that may have occured? After all, fair is fair.

    3) If PAST PLAYERS who have had infractions are not banned, will Evony be fair and give those who were recently caught in 1st time transgressions of the rules a second chance, as in the past? After all, fair is fair.

There are mixed messages out there, some saying everyone will be addressed and some that just say your guilty, your banned, that's the end of it. It would be to Evony's great benefit and it would probably stop some of the nonsensical postings going on here if these issues were officially clarified.

Some players like to demonize all "cheaters". Yes some are bad. I started in a server where a multi account *** user was farming my npcs that i made. 3 accounts within 20 miles were raiding my npcs. Then I mailed the person and they concentrated even more on my npcs.
Of course i gathered more than enough evidence, which I still have, and sent it to evony. And...nothing happned for a month. During this time the multi acct user was in my alliance so i ddint want to start a war. So instead of quitting i decided to level. the playing field. In other words I took matters into my own hands because evony was too busy/lazy? Whatever the case..
Please do not demonize everone who was suspended as "dishonest" please. It sounds terrible to me. I consider myself a master debater :0. I am very logical. In case some decides to bring ill logic I have many illogical arguments as well. My campaign has started to get my money back that I spent after honest playing following the suspension ( I was more active than most all which i regret now of course).

    Default I agree with JMWII

Those of you "honest" players were just treading water below the botters unable to compete with them if run properly. Those who really wanted to compete with those guys had no way in the game other than to use the same cheating methodologies since evony was not stopping these methods.

you both have good points, but this post was for someone in Evony to respond to, hopefully there will be some clarifications on this.

I wouldn't expect anything to be "fair" as the only "fair" thing would be the elimination of all cheaters and since some cheaters hide themselves better than others, and evony can't possibly catch them all, "fair" will never be obtainable.

haha, in a perfect world zowza that would be the case. but this is Evony's burden to bear having to deal with real people in our real world. Evony can and likely will do whatever they like, it's thier game. All I am trying to do with these issues is to make some sense as to the broad range of bannings and what is to be expected with those who are taking the fallout of them. Current cheaters, Past cheaters who reformed, honest players, whatever the case may be it needs to be clarified completely and not generically as has been the case most topics on the subject

    Default I agree

After reading many of these recent posts, I agree that lot of the responses from the Evony staff have been completely rude and dismissive. Questions they don't like in this forum they just arbitrarily close the thread. I'm just really thankful that I never spent any money here (and never will).

As for the users of third party programs, I'm glad to see them go but Evony should of did this level of enforcement to start with. Because they were indecisive, greedy or incompetent they let it go and thereby forcing many normal players no choice but to cheat as well in order to have a chance of playing the game.

So what Evony unofficially accepted in the past is no more and caused a lot of players to leave the game which would of been easily avoided if Evony was better managed.

    It is important to many that there is clarification;
Past transgressors, will not be banned/holiday'd providing they stay within the ToS.
66 is losing stacks of good players and its escalating.

We are not going to answer these specific questions, because we don't want players to try to plan exactly how much cheating they can get away with. The players who are upset are the players we banned. Believe it or not, we knew this would happen.

Bottom line: if you don't cheat, you don't need to worry about any of this.

Well the really interesting thing is that Evony suspends for 3 days with a warning, if this action continues, the account will be terminated. However a Mods forum post advised that even if you used any form of enhancement on your account months ago, it could still happen. What's the point of the 3 day suspension and players heading the warning if you're just going to terminate anyway. Especially when people have put more money on the account and those people are now screaming blue murder and talking to their credit card companies. I don't get it. I don't understand why you would give people a warning and tell them to stop if you're going to go back over activity from months ago and terminate the account, regardless of whether they've taken notice of the warning.
