    Default Super Server game balance

I recently started a new game and attempted to join server 028.
I was automatically forwarded to the new Super Server SS2.
I've been on that server for approximately 11 days now, and have already advanced the big shots at Evony some of my hard earned dollars. Because afterall I realize that this is a buiness and its only fair to support the game if I am enjoying playing it.

Now its come to my attention that the balance of game play may have been altered for the super servers, especially with reguards to medal drop rates.

I did see the sticky thread at the top of this forum about game mechanics and the reply from the ADMIN person is dated July 09! I believe his remarks may be somewhat out of date.

I've been able to find out from other players that the Rose medals do drop from level 10 valleys; however they no longer appear to be dropping from the low level valleys.

This is a somewhat discourageing situation for a new knight looking for a promotion. I've been hitting a level 1 hill repeatedly for the past 2 days with no results. I believe that I should be able to get a cross or rose medal from that hill eventually, at least thats the way it works on a standard server.

I found no offical notices from Evony that the game's mechanics have been tweaked for Super Servers. And they've done nothing to discourage new players from joining these servers.

While I should clearly prefer to join a newer game server; this website has no server status page with game start dates posted that i've been able to locate.

If the balance of gameplay has been tweaked on these super servers to match the higher ranked players in the game, and make it unfair to new players, then I think i have a valid issue with the Evony people.

I wrote a ticket under billing/accounts and I'm waiting for a reply; since the matter does involve a sum of game coin I thought that was appropriate.

Never in the past has Evony held its players up to date on game mechanics changes. And if it ever happened, it lacked the detail required to make balanced and sound ingame choices based on the new changes.

I admire your request, but I reckon it will be in vain. The only way to find out drop rates is by testing it yourself.

Generally there are three different drop rate mechanics on different server (groups). Check your server to see which group you belong to and go to the Guide forum and check out the complete medal farming guide, it shows the different droprates for each kind of server.

    Good luck!

Well i didn't see the "Complete Medal Farming Guide" but i looked at few of the medal guides.

From the intelligence i've been able to gather, server 028 would have been in the group where medals do drop from low level valleys. Any level 3 valley should have a decent chance, more than 1%, of dropping a rose.

Conditions on higher numbered servers were stated to be more like what I'm seeing on SS2, medals don't begin to drop until level 5 or above. One guide recommends farming level 9-10 valleys with details on how to do this effectively.

Therefore I think that my research shows the game mechanics may have been altered for Super Servers, they are not the same conditions as were prevalent on the servers they were merged from.

I was getting my info from a wiki guide which is clearly out of date, and didn't cover differences between servers.

And perhaps its true that more server merges are scheduled, all with updated game mechanics? So moving to another server may not be the answer.

The situation as it stands is clearly unfair to new players. to alter basic mechanics well after a game has progressed, whether or not the new player was well informed of what those game mechanics would be.

Recently a whole lotta people were banned for macroing, clearly this is against game rules and provides an unfair advantage. Therefore it appears that the folks at Evony have some interest in fair play. I think I still have a good reason to dispute my case, not just for myself but for all the new players joining game.

Sorry to shatter your high hopes... but at Evony there is little to no interest in fair play. The ban waves started after the situation went completely out of hand, forum activity was a testament to that during those days (and still).

Although there have been some gentle movements toward satisfying the customers, there has been far too little, far too late, and it is still grossly insufficient. Add to that the fact that even now the same mistakes are being made over again (referring to the communication between Evony and its Playerbase) and you cannot conclude other than that they really do not care the least, as long as you are satisfied enough to keep p(l)aying.

Well when it comes to making choices about the gameplay, clearly i can decide not to spend more money on it.
I might even decide not to spend more time on it, an equally important decision since my time is valuable.
If the company is merging servers now the rational is clear that the game is losing playerbase. The profit being generated by this free game is not enough to cover the cost of doing business on the current number of servers.
And I don't think that Evony can do any better with their ad campaign as far as attracting new blood. A little loss in the playerbase is completely inevitable because there are always new games, new competition for market share. Every successful MMOG depends on gaining new players faster than it loses old players. But in many cases the loss outweighs the gain and it's due to poor management and the alienation of your players. Its not at all untypical for an MMOG to change the game while people are playing it, and in most cases fundamental changes are very unpopular. Just ask SOE how fast a playerbase can bail on a popular game, they know.

People who started out on servers below 55-ish really shouldn't complain. You at least had the chance to get easy medals. You didn't take it, well tough luck you shot yourself in the foot.

Stop whining and go attack those valleys. You'll get there, eventually.

Oh don't forget to mention that none of the new servers NPC 10's drop medals anymore. Maybe 1/100 times like a regular valley instead of the 1/2-4 times like they use to so good luck getting prinz

    Default drop rates success

hello whoever is to read this, as you know there are many guides as to how to and what to farm with for medal succession concerning flats valley's and anythin else you send troops at, the new servers for me do seem to be harder to come by the medals you require but its not just the small players who are suffering, the bigger players i'm sure are also, the superservers were made to be bigger and better and unfortunately that also means harder to get medals too, it comes down to this, Evony is a money based game so you have 2 choices, either splash out and buy out and buy some medal box's or start workin harder to figure out how to get the drop rates workin like they used too, there has to be a way of figurin out what the right amount to send is weather it be the total amount of troops you send or the rainbow you send with your attacks, either way there's no point floodin the forums with constant complaints, i'd rather come on here and read somethin usefull that anyone can post as to if they have actually achieved success at while aiming to farm for certain medals

For players who didnt get their Prinzessin before servers merged that sucks but it happens, there was plenty of time to do so especially given the drop rate before.

Server 28 has been out since last July, even if you have friends or whatnot in that server unless you are taking over another account you have no chance of surviving. I'd suggest you start on 141 and suffer through it like everyone else rather then fighting a cause that isn't going to change in a game that you have no chance in suceeding in. They slowed the drop-rate so more people would buy medal boxes and they would make more money. They freely admit to this, and i don't forsee it changing all that much in the future
