Well; Though Dawnseeker will say that there are 10 million players; or 15 million players everyone knows that in reality there are less then 100k ACTIVE, UNIQUE players (I am not positive whether the Evony guys count each email addy account, or whether they include accounts on several different servers in their mega numbers) So, for the sake of argument lets say that
15 million people joined up to check it out. 50% quit within a week. Out of the 7.5 million; I would say 80% would quit within the month when the stale factor appeared.
Now; Evony really does not care about players who spent money. Not because they are uncaring, but they already got us as a customer. It is much easier to attract another 10 million players, out of whom 15-20% will spend money.
So, to the question of AgeI and AgeII. Everyone is rightly concerned and angry about the way Evony has gone about in letting us know about things. But once again, that is their decision. Evony has few actual employees. I heard they only pay FoxyBunny in Zimbabwen currency (At least that is the rumor that i want to start). Good or bad it is a situation in which Evony will do what Evony wants to do- and in their mind they would rather perpetuate the turnover rate because they want the short term profits instead of wanting to build some magical community where everyone will stick around for years and years.
So; no matter what happens people will be ticked off; they will scream, kick their neighbors pet Lemur and then threaten to hold their breath till Evony does something different. But I am willing to bet that 90% of the people threatening to quit forever will quietly stop by in AgeII and then start playing.
