    Default Major Outage #2 for the Day at Evony

    Lets see....several hours outage this morning, and now yet another outage - already going on an hour.

    Glad to know that Evony is more concerned about banning botters and creating Age 2 instead of ensuring the Payers and Players of Evony are allowed to play during the prime hours that people try to feed their troops.

    I'm sure several people will have refuges from todays fiascos. And all the players will receive will be a form letter saying 'Thanks for your mail, no problems found.'

    Not trying to stick up for anyone here just know what it's like to have a server go down on me. the only thing i would hope for is a moderator coming in and acknowledging problems and letting us know they're working on it. it's all i ask of my front line people when i'm up to my neck in the problem is let people know i'm on it.

    That is what we usually do ZipperOfSpandex (GREAT name, by the way!), but it doesn't make much difference, as you will soon see.


    Folks, server problems are ALWAYS examined immediately. If the problem isn't resolved right away, it is simply because the people involved want to do it right. I know it's aggravating for ALL of us. But the work needs to be done properly.

    Let me offer apologies on behalf of us all for this inconvenience, and assure you all of our best intentions.

    Oh, you mean like they did this morning? Oh wait....sorry, that was my imagination running wild again.

    The moderators just close the threads, no comment as to why the outage occurred. And certainly no mention of compensation for all the folks that lost troops to refuge, not being able to defend attacks, and in some cases troops that simply never returned.

    Compensation? doubt it....

    We Moderators are NOT here to comment on why the outage occurred. That, we simply do not know. Nor is there any reason to tell us.

    We Moderators are NOT here to speak of compensations. That is not our purlieu. Nor should it be.

    We are here to make sure forum rules are followed and to keep this place convivial and welcoming. In short, to keep this forum a beneficial experience BOTH for members and the company.

    ROFL.....Evony will not roll out another compensation pack simply because people such as yourself (who probably doesn't even know how to ensure that the problem isn't your pc or connectio) scream, hollar, and whine for a compensation gift every single time that you can't immediately log in exactly when you want, LOL. Honestly, I've been on most the day (in and out) and haven't noticed any problems, but I'm on ss22. This brings another point to mind, you don't even have the thought to say WHAT server you're experiencing the problem on, you simply come in and start flaming away lol. Try checking all the possibilities on this thread http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=73310.... then follow the steps to a resolution.

    Don't know about the rest of the day, but this mornings outages really did a number on me. Thanks to "invalid gateways" this morning, i wasn't able to login and do the farming i knew i needed to be done so i could safely take the evening off and enjoy an excellent concert by AgainstMe, Alexisonfire, Billy Talent and the Cancer Bats. Figures the one time i actually have plans during an evening the server wouldnt let me on

    I'm not here crying for a compensate pack, nor do i think i'm entitled to one...But losing 200k archers and scouts and various other troops really frustrates a guy

    Buddy, unless you experienced what this guy is complaining about I suggest you crawl back under your bridge and wait for some topic that you actually know something about to troll on.

    One particular thread during the several hour long outage in the morning had active viewers in the THOUSANDS. ALL were looking for some sort of notice as to what was going on. Many also made it clear that they would be guaranteed losses from the outage one way or another.

    Through those some 30,000+ views not a single one was a moderator or admin.

    On a separate note, I still have failed to find ANY acknowledgement from the game staff of these outages. Not even an apology to their many paying customers. BRAVO!

    As for those who did not have these troubles, in all likelihood, you never had to refresh during the downtime. There were players who remained online simply because they did not leave the game. This created quite the advantage for some. While adding to the losses of others.

    Expecting compensation is not appropriate as occurences like these should be expected. However, it is a necessity for the evony game and forum staff to organize a response plan that not only addresses the technical issues but also the community issues.

    Should another login problem like this occur again I would hope that all the servers would be shut down temporarily, so as to preserve equal opportunity for all players and minimize personal loss for a substantial population.
