    Default never giving in

recently someone with easly 10 times more troops then me set out to take my war factory city
i had 2500 towers, 6k traps, and roughly 85k troops and a hand full of siege engines to defend with
i refused to give in throughout the battle i was able to kill about 200k of his troops...mainly were archers
i spend 1.4mil on healing and lost all my resources but i still never gave in
he contently sent me threatening mail
once i ran out of all defenses 10 seconds before his next 2 waves hit i abanded the city
next he went after my main
there was no way in hell id let ANYONE take my main so i went to my last resort and abanded my 2 other cities making it impossible for him to take my main
about 2 hours later after contant attack he finally found out i left all my other cities so he mailed me saying to teleport far away which i did not and will not ever

what would you have done in my situation?
no troops no defenses no alliance members with enough troops to defend you with

    Cool

I would have T'ported away: re-build now with the purpose of conquering that assailant with a coordinated team of heavy hitters. That is why one must work FOR your alliance, gain respect, so that when the storm hits, you're not ALONE. Plot your advances AND retreats.

It's like managing a stock portfolio: cut your losses, avoid that big loss, and let your winners grow.

A samurai saying: retreating is just fighting in another direction. Plan to ambush. if you're hit hard by a tough unexptced foe, you have to know their strength to plan your survival.

Any USN SEAL or a HMS SAS operator or an inner city hood' or a cat will know, when ambushed and there is way out, you move out ....until you regroup, plan, and then ambush like the WWII General McArthur's "I shall return...".

Only a naive Fool would want to fight "fair"

i have much respect in my alliance i had a few people offer me help at that time but the number of troops they had would have been pointless as they would all be killed
as for teleporting i wont for 2 reasons...1 i dont have a tele and 2 i refuse to give him what he wants

Well, at this point, he really can't have what he wants...which would appear to be conquest. You only have one city now, and another player cannot conquer you if that's all you've got.

At this point, you'd be a plunder rather than a conquer, so if this person is a heavy-hitter trying to see his name flash by at the top of the screen for conquering someone's city, he probably won't bother you too much until you make another city.

Regarding teleporting...you should've gotten some in the gift package(s). Did you use them already? (I used my teleports to find a location that was less populated so I didn't have neighbors right next door and could build in peace.)

heh heh, know thy neighbors and esp. your Alliance members.

The reason why I play this game is because we play with and against real players

I kept my two cities an hour apart (lvl 7 compass). My enemies assumed they couldnt take my city and they where still close enough for transport

to be succinct, "never giving in" really means preserving your army so you can go back on offense.

My advice would be to build a decent amount of scouts, say 10k+, then build up a monster army. The scouts will prevent him from seeing what you have for a while, and while he is off trying to conquer another city, send your whole army out in waves and avenge yourself by maybe taking over one of his weaker cities.
