Thread: What happened here?

  1. Default

    Sigil, as many have said before, Evony is a private business. They use their own money to support a community for us to share knowledge, and have a few laughs. They don't do it so that a random member, who might be valued in the community, to rule it. The Evony forums can be run however Evony wants to run it, and I don't believe it's any of your business to criticize and flame their actions as a private corporation. It's their choice to appoint a random 12 year old as a moderator if they see fit, and not the one YOU think would make the best moderator. The community doesn't have a say in the matter, and you need to understand that.
    Quit.

    It seems like this thread has calmed down. And Sigil, nobody will throw a Banhammer at you as long as you don't push it.

    so what you should be asking is, what can i do to make this place the haven i want it to be?

    Except we can bring the Golden Age back. We could build this into a whole new Golden Age if we stop settling for "good enough" and actually worked at improving relations between everyone.

    (EDIT)
    Sorry, I misread your message, I'm a bit sleepy. NVM what I said.
    Another Edit
    BAH, I'm confused;;

    Original Post:
    I find lots of people obsessing so much about the Golden Age. I was there, it was fun, but it's the past. Stop trying to recreate the past, and go on, and automatically, if people are controlled well, another one of the "Golden Ages" will come, maybe even better.

    Isn't that the same attitude that caused the Recession that is currently ravaging the global economy? If we don't question the bad decisions, then those in charge will think that it was a good decision and make more bad ones because without feedback, they won't know that the results of a decision were less-then-stellar. Especially in such an understaffed place like this. Critque is what builds good businesses when put to proper use to fine tune a product.

    EXACTLY!!! instead of obsessing over reviving something long gone why not try starting a new Age which was better than the last

    Thats why we have people Like Dawnseeker and Valkirah in place. They are Constantly Reviewing our every action and making sure we dont go overboard or anything, Not to mention that as Abstract said, If you feel a mod is abusing their power you can report them via pm to one of the afore mentioned representatives

    They listen to constructive criticism and well thought out opinions. Raging about their decisions and flaming doesn't help, and doing it in public doesn't necessarily help either.
