Here's the problem:
"It's a war game"
On my server, there are a group of people who have been using the truce-then-dream-truce technique for at least a month, if not closer to 2 months. I have no idea how much money has been involved, but it has to be a substantial amount, since the dream truces only come from the $30 packages.
Most days they are in truce for 22 hours a day. Sometimes they'll spend an extra hour or two out of truce to lob attacks at someone, but then they'll be right back in one of the truce types once anyone starts retaliating.
People in this alliance also lob 1 ballista and 1 transporter attacks at people, specifically designed for maximum bird flashing. They aren't used to mask other larger attacks on that player. The only purpose is to make the bird flash for as long as possible. They know that certain people spend money to put their account on holiday periodically due to job issues, and they also know that an incoming attack prevents you from putting the account on holiday. They make these attacks overlap and go on for weeks at a time, thus using this as a strategy to deprive someone of the ability to put their account on holiday.
Evony is making a quick buck from these folks, but the reality is that the truces and the holiday-block are both exploits by these people.
Since I know "the right thing" will not be done (Evony stepping up and putting a cooldown on the truces so they can't overlap), we're gradually figuring out ways of beating them. The problem with sending a camped attacks is that the camp time gets added on the return trip as well, so the troops might be away for 20-30 hours, thus leaving our own cities vulnerable, not to mention that they could come on during the non-camp time and teleport, just to do it again somewhere else.
Not only that, even if they were beaten back to 1 city, they'd all just continue the nuisance attacking, sending 1 ballista and 1 transporter with max camp time.
All of this, in my view, violates "the spirit of the game", however since money is coming in, I doubt anything will be done about it. Kudos if they do have the fortitude to do something about it, but I seriously doubt it...
