Someone who is taught the wrong facts will be incorrect about their final conclusions, that does not make them unwise.

Let's I was not taught that outer space is a vacuum, but rather it has air that simply lacked oxygen. I might write a scene on an asteroid where the the characters walk out of the spaceship with nothing but oxygen masks <glances at George Lucas>. That doesn't make me stupid or unwise, it merely makes me naive. The scene in Empire Strikes Back makes sense to me based on my knowledge base. I applied the knowledge correctly, even though the knowledge itself is incorrect.
