i agree with rota to a point. but i think that one doesnt nessacarily need to learn meany facts to be "wise" i will redily admit that i am ingorant in many things. there is a vast aray of information that i do not even know that i dont know.
it is my oppinionin that wisdom is the aplacation of what one knows about another person, a "gut feeling" that is hard to discribe and somewhat dangorous to pratice. to know someones thoughts and feelings and be able to react in such a way that your advice is taken to heart takes great wisdom
i know very little about the world but i am fortounate enough to know how to listen. i know that statment sounds overly simplified but listening to the heart that is crying out and not just the words being spoken is the root of my "wisdom" the ability to hear what is not said, and to gather information that is not handed out freely, and to then come to a sage bit of advice that can be applied, takes great wisdom. and greater still to diliver that advice with tact and grace so that it is recived, treasured, and then followed.
to me that is the greatest applaction of what is called wisdom
