Thanks for this guide, after 3 weeks no medals I have gotten around 4 now in the past few days. I had a question and a note to add to the guide:
Question: When you say do not rescout valleys, I am confused why? Does it lock in the current troops/would the troops change every hour or so if I don't rescout?
Note to Guide: I have found a great secret that may apply to other players. The rare valleys that drop medals, when I attack them later they drop more medals. So I've began capturing the lvl 10's that drop medals, and attacking them regardless of troops stationed there, and I get a medal so far 75% of the time.
Thanks again,
LY
i notice that if i get a medal or some prestige on attacking a valley, i get more medals from the valley with the same attack. i just keep attacking every hour, when valley refreshes his troops. i got from one valley (with the same troop sending) up to 3 medals in one night.
on ss24 iv gotten loads of medals recently, even a rose from a forest and honor from a lake. I only hit lv10s that have footsoldiers in so i get no losses
I've suspected that gaining prestige and taking losses increased medal drop chances for awhile. How did you figure it out? Also how did you come to the conclusion that medals drop 5 percent of the time in lvl 10 valleys?
I've done the capture and abandon method before and received 3 medals in a row hitting the same valley every 5 seconds. I've actually done it twice. It wasn't medals that I needed though. When I started the capture and abandon method I was getting a medal every 7 to maybe 10 hits easy. Probably more often. I'm up to Furstin now and haven't done much medal farming for Prinz yet. This is the reason I thought that medals dropped more if you lost troops because I went from taking no archer losses and just losing layers, to taking a few hundred losses almost every valley hit. I was gaining quite a few medals and as long as you layer all your attacks properly you can minimize the losses on most of the hits and easily replace the archers lost.
I would agree that the drop rate is probably 5 percent, but do you know how prestige gained factors in or how time last medal dropped is factored in? It can't be 5 percent all the time if those factors can change it unless it's the base and the chance increases the longer a medal hasn't dropped and the more prestige or troops you lose. Anyways, I'd like to see the evidence that proved these things. If you know it's 5 percent then you must know the math with those other factors and how they increase or decrease the chance of medals dropping.
