DEBATE: What is evil, really?

o no no no...it was stated that it was a very subjective/eye of the beholder deal, and i agreed..most people would def agree that hitler=evil. No questions. My point was more that, since it IS intangible and can be considered in the eye of the beholder, I am sure at the time he and his followers did NOT consider their actions evil. To them he was a hero. I am not saying i AGREE with their point of view...certainly not...but I am just pointing out that different people may have very different views on this topic...maybe it was an extreme example

Whether he believed what he was doing was evil or not doesn't matter, the world saw him as an evil man doing evil things and that's the way he will always be remembered.

And yes of course that is how he will be remembered I was simply pointing out that at the time he was alive and the holocaust was happening there was obviously a large group of people who did not believe that to be true. The question posed to us was whether evil was subjective and definable, it was stated that it is subjective and i was agreeing with that statement and just citing an example.
