They are quite imperialistic, but no doubt that they're determined and strong-willed (Although their health and body is fragile compared to other Asians).

both make me uncomfortable.

They're a very solid country, and have powerful pride in their history.

I was told by more than one Japanese person that WWII is glossed over in Japan. Apparently, sometimes the first time a Japanese kid learns about their country's imperialist past is when they visit Taiwan or Korea, countries that most definitely remember the "Co-Prosperity Sphere".
